The service was terrible. Out of the 4 waiters and waitresses that served us, only one was pleasant. When my mum asked if a door in the restaurant led to the toilet, the waiter replied in disdain that it was a VIP room, embarrassing her. The door was plain and nondescript. Who would have guessed it led to a VIP room. When I asked for extra bowls to share the noodles, the waitress looked annoyed and agreed after some thought to bring us...one.The food is substandard. The slice of salmon on the sushi was paper thin. The baked rice was lukewarm and the rice tasted like cold, leftover rice.Considering the quality of service and food, it was overpriced. Way overpriced. continue reading

Was visiting some relatives during CNY and wanted to find a place nearby for lunch and was told it's opened during the new year period. It was the first visit and perhaps the last one for me. We were the 2nd set of customer that day and the restaurant wasn't too crowded but I was disappointed at the quality of the food and service wasn't great. continue reading

For only $18.88++, one can eat unlimited sushi (subject to terms and conditions). And for someone who is hungry, I find it worthwhile. Thus, I stepped into the Hei Sushi at Downtown East for its dinner buffet. For the buffet, I was entitled to a udon, a red plate sushi, all $2.18 colored plates, a green tea and dessert. I decided to go for the udon first and was disappointed with the few strands of udon with a couple pieces of seaweed The red plate of sashimi I ordered was ok, just that the chefs could have sliced the fish into thinner slices. The rest of the buffet was the ordering of the usual sushi which did not taste different from those sold outside. I did not eat much as I was full quite soon and dessert in the form of King's ice cream was takeaway. continue reading
