Introduction
Taste a slice of Singaporean nostalgia at Killiney-Kopitiam. Once a humble coffee shop along Killiney Road, it is now one of Singapore’s best known heritage brands. Naturally, you’ll find Hainanese-style kaya toast served with soft-boiled eggs and fragrant cups of coffee or tea. But there are also delicious local dishes on the menu, including Mee Siam, Laksa and Curry Chicken. continue reading

This is my favorite Killiney outlet, compared to those in malls, I just felt this outlet have that kopitiam feel and eating there just fits the mood. Love the kaya toast there, especially the thick rich butter and kaya bursting with every bite, super heavenly!! Also tried the mee rebus on a recent visit, it was good too, very yummy and appetising. continue reading

Tracking back the moment which we still enjoy the food and beverages in particularly traditional way, Killiney Kopitiam did it while preparing their dishes and serving their customers. Concept and everything was just simple, the menu displayed was logically acceptable by youngsters all the way to elderly. I felt very relaxed to take a rich chocolate aroma Milo and a piece of toast during bustling hour. It was a great place for busy office staffs to rest and take a break, please stop all never-ending activities. Filled up by Kaya Butter, the bread was crunchy on the outlay and soft fluffy inside. Freshly heated up from oven, butter slowly oozed out became a heaven piece. Total of $2.00++, it was a good breakfast to start up your day. continue reading

After my language lesson nearby, my friends suggested eating here for dinner. Surprisingly, there's not much people at around 6.30pm and it was great because we want to avoid the crowd. I supposed its location is not very near to the mrt station, which is why there's not much people despite it being dinner time. Head to the counter to order your food and it will be sent to you shortly!I ordered the toast ($2, $1 for 1 toast) to share with my friend. I supposed by 1 toast, they mean one slice of the thick bread. It may look little but it's actually quite filling. At first I thought I've eaten French toast because there's quite a strong smell and taste of egg in the bread, but it's actually the kaya! One of the better toasts I've eaten so far. The bread is toasted to "not-too-dry" which is exactly what I like!! It leaves behind some softness of the bread after some toasting. Do give the toast a try! It left quite a deep impression on me. Ordered the curry chicken with prata ($6.50) as well. The curry chicken was a little spicy for me (I don't take much spicy food). It has 3 chicken parts, and 2 halves of a potato. I think the portion was quite big, probably because I had the toast before this. I suggest sharing with your friend if you're having this not as a meal. The potato was slightly hard, the meat was probably cooked for too long. The curry was not bad, but it lacked freshness. I still think the toast was the best! continue reading

ordered a toast bread set ($4.50) for lunch. The set came with bread, soft boiled eggs and a cup of tea. Everything looked unappealing. The soft boiled eggs were unfortunately overcooked and did not have a pleasant texture. The toast bread was alright, with the right amount of butter and kaya. The tea tasted average. It is quite crowded during lunch hours and waiting time was approximately 10 minutes. continue reading
