Located within bugis village is this hidden gem! Made up of 3 shops is a small area of food stalls. Being that this is within bugis village, it is heavily air conditioned as in, I got cold enough to need my jacket. This is the Thai food stall on the left. With drinks like Thai milk tea at just $1.50 and pad Thai at $4. The food is reasonable and the quality is decent. The stall is helmed by the owner herself who brought her skills of a home-cooked Thai dishes into Singapore. In order to deliver delicious Thai food, the ingredients are imported directly from Thailand regularly in order to the origin taste of Thai cuisine. You can spot the boxes of ingredients laying at the stall entrance all stamped "Product of Thailand".1. Thai Milk Tea $1.50The Thai milk tea wasn't too diluted and sweet enough for me. I've always been a fan of Thai Milk Tea. I love the milkiness and sweetness of the drink. But it's not easy to find them at a reasonable price. I've heard some cafe charging close to $10 a cup for these. Here at Mae Noi, they make the drinks right in front of you and being self-service. They will ring a bell and you walk right up to collect your drink order. Since there's no more than 30 seats at this eating corner. It's very easy to spot your completed drink/food order at the cashier.2. Mae Noi Basil Minced Pork with mama noodles $4This dish was soaked in the minced pork sauce which was addictive! The noodles itself was more like maggie instant noodles, they were springy and didn't absorb much of the sauce. They were generous with the minced pork as you could grab a taste of the minced pork in every mouthful!3. Pad Thai with Chicken or Prawn $4 eachThe Pad Thai had enough wok hei and you could see charred bits of the noodles. There was sufficient crushed nuts for the noodles. You can pick, chicken or pork or prawns. I got the prawn pad Thai and the prawns were crunchy and delicious. All in all, a hidden gem with reasonable prices and great Thai food! continue reading

After a retail therapy at Bugis, all you need is some delicious Thai food for dinner. Instead of going to those big name such as Thai express, we decided to settle down at this small and humble place at Bugis street level 3. I mean how bad can the food be?They taste alright and personally, i think the tom yum soup turned out to be quite a surprise! It doesn't taste only spicy and sour but also a slight sweetness. It is definitely a love for people who has low tolerance of spiciness! The green curry gravy is thick. It will be better if they serve more gravy to match the amount of rice given. Phai thai is supposed to be the signature dish of every thai place but i won't recommend theirs. Their noodles is too "soft". It does not has the right texture and the appetizing sauces. continue reading

Ordered Phad Thai at this restaurant after shopping at the nearby shops, the taste of the food was pretty good after mixing with the sugar, peanuts and dried chillies given on the side of the plate. Sadly speaking, the serving was really small and will not be enough for people who have a good appetite. The service of this restaurant was pretty good as there was a guy helping us to search for seats, taking our orders and sending the food to us during dinner time. The environment of the place was pretty great to me as I like seeing people strolling past the nearby clothings stores. Also, my friends and I could look at all the clothes hanging outside the nearby stores conveniently. continue reading
