I love going to The Central for lunch! The basement always have many cheap and good food there Both me and my colleague have the craving for some of that 满家乐 goodness!Luckily for us, we went earlier and managed to get a seat. They have limited space and seating there, so if you’re slow you’ll have to eat others.I was in a dilemma thinking if i should eat their Teriyaki Chicken Rice or the Curry Fried Chicken Rice! I want the Teriyaki Chicken with the curry sauce lol!Anyway end up I got the Teriyaki Chicken Rice and my friend got the Curry Tonkatsu Rice! For $5.50, you get a small bowl of veggie soup with the Teriyaki Chicken Rice or the Curry Rice with an egg The portion is definitely filling to satisfy your hungry, very tasty the Teriyaki Chicken!Their curry is worth recommending too if you’re like me, who loves that kind of sweet curry.I’ll say it’s quite worth it, and their milk tea is a must try too!I love the fragrant milk tea taste tantalising my taste buds A cup of Hongkong style Iced Milk Tea is just what you need in this humid weather, $2 for a small cup and $2.50 for a large cup Less than $10 and it’s now the only outlet left in Singapore, what’re waiting for?Try Full House 满家乐 now! continue reading

I was expecting savoury.I mean, it's braised meat rice as stated in mandarin.Firstly, it was minced.I'm fine with that.A cube of braised beancurd and a whole braised hardboiled egg with a side of boiled cabbage. It should be good. And the operative word being -should-This was not savoury It was sweet. To be fair it wasn't sickeningly sweet. It just was -not- savoury.Needless to say, this bowl of rice was left wanting. And before I sound like I'm whining. And there's nothing about the food that draws people to this place.I see people eat.And then I see them do a takeout.Of a half a dozen cups of these kungfu milk tea with pearl. It was HK style milk tea.Thick and done with finesse. So that's why it was a full house!I wish I had a large cup. With pearls. And no, I stopped myself from getting another to-go.I'm coming back for drinks. continue reading

I was in Central mall & stopped at the food court for a quick lunch, I walked around the entire basement area & finally stopped at Man Jia le for lunch. I ordered an Iced Milo (small) & a chicken cutlet & sunny side up egg. The milo was very tasty & chocolaty & was served with loads of ice. The chicken cutlet too was really nice, it was served hot & was crispy & I enjoyed every bite of it along with the sunny side up egg that I had ordered for. I enjoyed a not so heavy lunch continue reading

This was sometime back in June in 2010. The group of us decided on Man Jia Le because the other places were quite crowded and we just wanted to find a place to rest our feet after a long day of shopping. Besides rice and noodles, it also sells milk teas and french toasts.Since all of us are first timers, we didn't really know what is good. I had the Hong Kong Happy Bowl, since has a thumbs up beside the dish. My friends choose the Pork Chop rice and the Gong Zhai Mian. My dish came with an egg as well. The dish lower than average in my opinion. The fat proportion of the minced meat is far too high and it was too overly seasoned. Thumbs down for my dish. My friend eating the pork chop rice thought hers wasn't that nice as well as it was also too salty for her. Looks like once is enough for all of us. continue reading
