I’ve walked past Old Chang Kee on numerous occasions and the Nasi Lemak Chicken’O is sold out. Lucky for me I pass this outlet and it’s not sold out. I take one bite and it’s as the advert read egg, chicken, peanut, ikan bilis, sambal chilli, it’s a nasi lemak chicken’o in a puff! It has big chucks of chicken, egg and moderately spicy which should satisfy most palates. Now go get one. continue reading

I had Ikea curry puff not no long ago and decided to compare the curry puff with Old Chang Kee. I purchased the Curry O from Ion Orchard at $1.40. The store is a small and it is an-conditioned unlikely others which is open space. The store is not easy to locate. One thing for sure, the turnover is fast partially it is dinner so people grasp snack during this hour. The length of the puff is 10 cm with thickness of 2 cm. The filling can be seen is filled with potatotes, somehow I did not get to eat any chicken meat? Wonder where has the chicken meat gone to. One guarantee ingredient is a quarter slice egg. Generally for a $1.40 curry puff comes wit a quarter slice egg can fill a small eater as meal. But for a big eater, it will be a starter only. continue reading

My first time trying iced Honey Lemon from Old Chang Kee and I love it! At an affordable price of only $1.20, this is totally worth it to get. There were lemon pulps in it and the honey taste was rather strong. Overall, there was a good balance of honey and lemon flavours. It did not taste diluted too. Another good thing is that the drink is cold and there's no ice inside (so you get to drink more). Self-service. continue reading

Curry puffs! I have been patronizing old Chang kee for years to eat their curry puffs! I like the ones with curried potato filling more than the sardine ones although both are good. Now they also have a non- spicy option which has mushrooms and chicken for the filling. With the fried pastry encasing the hot filling, this makes for a really nice treat! continue reading

One good thing about OCK is its prices. All food is below two dollars which are affordable for most of us, be it local or tourists. “Old Chang Kees” has the power to make people walk towards it, uncontrollably. I usually go there to grab some snack before heading home from work. The food displayed at the counter all seems to be delicious! You'll surely have a hard time picking what you want. Just by looking at the display counter full of food, will surely make you hungry! Ang among OCK's finger food, Chicken Mushroom O' is my favorite. Curry Puff is their best seller but I prefer the mushroom puff since I don't really like curry very much. The crust of Mushroom puff is just right and crispy, though I actually didn't taste the mushroom in it. But the chicken cubes are good since it's soft and tasty. There are carrots in it as well. Overall, there's nothing really special or WOW about it, but definitely perfect to fill in our empty stomachs. continue reading
