Signboard advertise 'The Good Old Taste of Home Cooking'. So i decide to try out, isn't that good. Ordered Pig Trotters with Vinegar ($5.80), i think is too sour, too much vinegar maybe, it come with 1 egg too, meat very little. And Mei Cai Kou Rou ($3.80) the mei cai vege is more then the kou rou. The taste is salty must go with rice. Rice is separate order for 1 cost ($0.50). Overall average, so far it did not feel like home cooking continue reading

- Curry noodles, $4.80My friends recommended the chicken curry as they simply loved it at the original outlet. Thus, they wanted to try this outlet at Nex. The curry indeed has a very home-cooked feel, much like what your elderly relative would have lovingly made. The curry was thick and quite tasty. Potatoes were cooked till soft and had absorbed the curry flavours well. I thought the spice level was ok too. Well, if you have a craving for chicken curry, you can pop by this place. By the way, the lychee tea ($2.80) was a good accompaniment for the curry. It seemed that actual brewed tea was used in the drink. It was not too sweet too and big, fresh lychees were given too. continue reading

Friend was telling me the original shop is famous for their fried chicken wings, however I couldn't find this item on their simple menu at OKG Express at Nex mall.So I ordered the second best dish, the curry chicken and two more dishes to go with the yao mei fan rice.Curry chicken $5Ok, this one does live up to its name being a signature dish of OKG. The curry gravy is thick and creamy and flavorful, best for dipping with bread. The chicken meat was very tender and juicy and infused with curry aroma. The potatoes, the item that seldom stand out in a curry dish was outstandingly soft and yummy!Mei cai kou rou 梅菜扣肉 $3.80This dish was flavorful but a tad salty. The preserved veggies was stewed till really soft, so was the pork belly. Best to eat with plain porridge or plain rice. You cai 油菜 $3A simple but delish dish. I love the crispy fried onion toppings. The oyster sauce was good too.Yao mei fan 有味饭 $2.80This is a very homecook flavored dish, with simple flavored steam rice and homely ingredients like fishcake cubes, chicken meat and mushroom. The serving was generous too.Food variety here was very limited but I don't mind coming back just for the Curry chicken! continue reading
