The restaurant is named after Sir Stamford Raffles’ first wife, Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt. It is located at the second level of The Arts House. The restaurant offers French cuisine which changes according what is in season. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in grey and whites, with a grand looking stage in centre. It is noted that the restaurant holds live performances by artistes from the Timbre Group on Fridays and Saturday evenings. There is also a private dining room hidden at the back which can host a dozen guests. For lunch, the restaurant offers a 3 course Executive Set Lunch at $38++ per person which I am having today. It consists of a choice of Les Entrées, a choice of Les Plats, and a choice of Les Desserts. It also served a 5 course Dinner ‘Carte Blanche’ which consists of the Chef’s selection of seasonal produce at $88++.Amuse BoucheA mixture of capsicum, burrata cheese, tomato, chives, and olive, served in a glass. Tastes spicy but balances off by the creamy cheese.Sourdough bread and french butter is served on the side too.EntreeLes Coqilles Saint-Jaques (Supplement $10++)Hokkaido scallops carpaccio, Kristal caviar dressing, mustard cressThe scallop is so thinly sliced that it can see through. One can taste of the sweetness of the seafood and the spicy of the spice.MainLe PorcIberian pork collar, vegetable purée, glazed topinambour, roasting jusIt does not look pork. Although it looks a bit raw when slices through, it tastes great. The topinambour has a caramelized texture outside but crunchy inside. The purée is very creamy and flavourful with a hint of curry taste. Just can't get enough of it.DessertLa FraiseMacerated Strawberries, creme chantilly, strawberry ice creamThe ice cream is like sobert but not too tart in taste. The sweet jelly cubes balance off the slightly sour strawberries. It is served with cream and salted caramel. Overall quite a yummy especially for one who don't like sour strawberries which commonly found in Singapore.Overall the food is great and quite well reasonable priced for a 3-course lunch. The place is quite relaxing as there is not many customers during lunch time. One can have your choice of seat. continue reading
