Just had a early dinner here at this popular mee robus stall here at ang mo kio. The price has went up to $3.80 instead of the previous $3.20 for a plate of mee robus with chicken. The noodles is chewy and not soggy. The peanut gravy is not too thick and quite flavourful. The generous portion of beansprouts and ried onions in it make it tasty as well. Stall owner is friendly and coffee shop is clean and bright.

Thanks to my cousin who had brought me to this coffee shop to taste this yummy Mee Rebus. For only $2.80 per plate, the portion served is very generous and looks really delicious. The thick peanut gravy with the added satay peanut gravy is simply tasty and make me craving for more. Yellow noodles are very chewy and not too soggy. The added bean sprout make this dish very crunchy as well. Uncle here is very friendly and stall is clean and neat.

This stall was featured in a TV programme just recently. They are supposed to be famous for their signature mee rebus. This stall used to be at Kovan area before they shifted to the current location. The queue was rather long when i went for my lunch. I joined in and waited for about 15 minutes to order and to collect it.Their opening hours is from 11.30 am to 8.00 pm. They usually sold out earlier during the weekends. I ordered a plate of basic mee rebus but added bagedil and shredded chicken for $4.00. A good portion of yellow noodle was cooked well then served with the potato based gravy together with a hard boiled egg, bean sprouts, tau pok and green chilli. A ladle of their special chilli was added just before served. The lime is to be squeezed first then mixed the yellow noodle well with the sauce. My first mouthful was rather satisfying. The gravy was really thick and rich. It was flavorful too with a slight hint of sourness from the lime and from tamarind paste . Their special chilli has got a rather mild level of spiciness. I would prefer it to be slightly spicier for that extra kick. The same type of yellow noodle served in a clearer chicken broth. Bagedil was added at an extra cost as well. It accompanied with a handful of shredded chicken then garnished with a generous amount of corriander, green chillies and dried shallots before served. The best way to enjoy this is to have it with hot chilli soya sauce available for self-service. The queue was still long when i done eating. It might be so due to the deliciousness of the foods served or it might be the short-lived effect of TV programme.
