Founded in April 2012, SPRMRKT (pronounced 'Supermarket') was born from the idea that food, retail, and art could be melded into a single, enjoyable experience. The brainchild of Designer / Director Sue-Shan Quek, and Chef Joseph Yeo, with pastry chef Furrene Hoh, SPRMRKT was set up as a concept store, offering casual gourmet dining with the twist of an art gallery amid a curated shop.Ambience at SPRMRKT is rustic casual, resembling European st...

Original Reviews at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/05/27/odette-national-gallery-singapore/ Odette has been attracting lots of attention since its opening. It is so much so till reservation has to be at least one month in advance. This include lunch slots too. I was lost for words when I was trying to make my first reservation attempt in April for a lunch next day. It was certainly futile. As such, I made a reservation in the April for a lunch in May. We were waiting in ...

We were in the area and wondered what's good here to eat... We read good reviews of food here and decided to come check things out for ourselves! We ordered: * Chilli Crab Pasta - it was actually rather spicy but over-bearing. The taste was not really like the Chilli crab you get in restaurants but it's still nice. The crab meat was also generous in amount, so much so that there was enough ingredients for every mouthful. • Red Dot Pasta - this pasta was with...

At the end of 2015, Tenkaichi has moved to a new location in Marina Square Shopping Mall from the dingy outdated location in Keypoint before. Considering our spoilt appetite for a premium cut of meat, we decided to go for Premium Wagyu Beef Buffe...

Full review with photos at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/03/29/rise-and-grind-coffee-co-on-hollerout-app/ An array of food is served at Rise and Grind Coffee Co, from Breakfast & Brunch to The Lighter Side, The Mains, The Burgers and of course the desserts (Sweet Cravings). On the menu, under The Lighter Side, basically these are finger food or rather snacks, there are about 7 dishes. Out of the 7, 5 were devoted to fries, French ...

Recently the coffeeshop had gone through a change and renamed 31 Coffee Shop. All the stalls in the coffeeshop had been replaced with new stalls. The zhi char stall was now called EC Kitchen 简单小厨. Being new, the coffee shop was packed during dinner time. We were lucky to grab a table facing the flat screen television.Curry Fish Head ($22) Served in a claypot, the dish was topped with lots of crispy beancurd skin, which went quite well when dipped in dark soya sauce....

Burp Kitchen & Bar is a neighbourhood cafe situated just next to the Bedok reservoir. It is housed under the void deck, at a very secluded area, definitely great for a night chill out with friends.Salted Egg Tofu Fries ($8)I am a great fan of tofu and I actually had quite high expectation for this dish. It seems like an innovative dish that we had not tried before. However, to my disappointment, I couldn't really taste the tofu as the fries were overwhelmed with the v...

Original Review at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/03/03/goro-goro-korean-restaurant-orchard-gateway-singapore/ When we heard the name Goro Goro Restaurant, we were wondering if it is a Korean word and wonder what was the meaning. We asked that question and realize it is referring to the sound drummed by the hungry stomach. Lol! Goro Goro Restaurant is well hidden from the bustling activities of the Orchard Shopping Belt. You won’t spot it unless you k...

It started out in 1978 at Balestier by Mr Chua who was formerly a pig farmer, whipping quality and fresh bak kut teh to patrons daily. Original post at http://www.nahmj.com/2016/03/04/modestos-restaurant-vivocity-harbourfront-singapore/ Modesto’s Restaurant used to be at the ground floor where Jamie’s Oliver occupied. But since its move to level 3, I am sure many do not know of its existence since it isn’t at a very prominent location. The space is in a irregular shape with mainly brown tone for almost everything. It a little dark even in the day, unless you are seated next to the glass panel. ...
