Self service place which offered various flavours of soya bean milk, grass jelly drinks, bean curds, and deep fried snacks.Beware of tiny flies which were quite alot and may accidentally drop into the sweet bean curd, which happened to me.Soya bean milk 豆奶 ($1.20/ hot)I had the hot version which was served bubble tea style sealed up in a plastic cup. Smooth in taste and not too sweet.Beancurd with Gula Malacca Syrup 椰糖豆花 ($1.80)I had the hot version as the place was out of the cold version. Smooth curd and not too sweet. continue reading

Walk pass and decided to take away some drinks, was initially about to buy almond soya milk, but saw this red bean soya milk, and change my mind (bad decision). Drinks prepared and happily walk off, then i took a sip.Nut-liked red bean with soya milk. It is not red bean paste or even soft, it's like nuts in the drink. I was expecting like the Hong Kong red bean milk, red bean paste with milk. Anyone actually preferred hard chunk red bean in their drinks ? Conclusion : If you are expecting soft mushy red bean or red bean paste, don't ever make the same mistake as me ! continue reading

I like the soya beancurd from Selegie Soya Bean. It is smooth and doesn't have the "siap siap" (don't know how to put it in English) taste. Very easy to swallow and sometime one bowl is not enough for me. Other than their original beancurd, I will add in 3 balls of glutinous balls (tang yuan) to make it even more tasty. It comes with 4 main flavors - yam, red bean, peanut and sesame. I like the yam tang yuan as the filling is a lot and one have to bite slowly in order not to get burn. I also love their soya bean milk drink as it is very flavorful with the soya bean used. continue reading

After my friends & I were done with our Prata breakfast, one of us suggested to have beancurd which was just down the walkway. Ever since being hooked onto the Lao Ban and 51 Soya Beancurd craze, I've neglected the traditional soya beancurd for a long while. If you ask me which one I prefer, my obvious answer would be the Lao Ban/51 soya beancurd pudding. However, my favourite kind of traditional beancurd is the one with Tang Yuan Selegie's menu offers a wide range of desserts, which include Bean Curd with Gingko Nuts/Red Bean/Grass Jelly etc. One item which captured our curiosity is the Soya Beancurd with Gula Melaka. I've never heard of that combination before so I was pretty eager to taste it! We ordered the warm version and I felt that the combi was just so-so, but two of my other friends love it. The texture is smooth though but I very much prefer the plain beancurd with tang yuan! Besides Soya Milk, they also sell other types of drinks like Grass Jelly drink, Soya Milk with Pearls/Bandung pearls/Red bean/Grass jelly etc.Price wise, it cost $1.80 for Soya Beancurd with Gula Melaka and $1.20 for Soya Milk drink. Ambience wise, I feel that the people should really do some cleaning up of the place as a few flies were buzzing around. continue reading

Selegie Soya Bean outlet has a long line of people waiting to buy their soya beancurd, soya bean drink and their snacks. Mrupupup waited for some time to have their soya beancurd and soya bean drink with pearls. Selegie Soyabean has many outlets in Singapore and was establised in 1998. It was worth the wait as their soya bean drink and soya beancurd are very nice. Their soya beancurd melts in your mouth and taste very nice. Their soya bean drink was thick and loved their generous portion of pearls in the drink. Yummzz !!!! Attached a photo of their nice soya bean curd (cold version). continue reading
