black chicken soup with dried scallops $8.90 - This soup is supposed to be very nourishing. The chicken was a little tough but the mushrooms were very soft and juicy.ginger fried rice $10.90. The ginger taste was distinct and the rice was moist. The waitress helped us to separate the rice into 4 bowls which were too much for 2 people to share.sambal potato leaves $8.90the vegetables were soft and the sambal taste was strong and spicy. continue reading

dried scallop black chicken soup $8.90the chicken was quite tender and the soup tasted very nourishing and flavourful. waisan and ginseng roots chicken soup $7.50this was a little bitter. the ginseng taste was not too strong so if you do not like ginseng but wish to drink it because it's nourishing, it will be tolerable. the chicken meat was quite tough for this soup.hometown fish belly $2.90the fish belly was surprisingly crispy but was a little salty. It was marinated well though.claypot eggplant with salted fish $9.90i love the eggplant but not with the salted fish. this was also a little salty so i will not order this again. continue reading

Although the restaurant name is Soup, i had never tried the soup as I will definitely go for the chicken. It's reasonably priced at $15+ / portion, sufficient for 2 pax. We added2 more dishes, tofu and vegetable and it was certainly filling for 3 pax. Total bill was about $54+.Will return. continue reading

One thing I really like about Soup Restaurant is the feeling I get when I step into the restaurant. Somehow it feels very homely and the dishes also taste very homely. There are several chef recommendations if you do not know what to order. We ordered the signature chicken (large $30.90), cereal prawns (medium can't remember the exact price, but it is around $25) as well as this new item which is the sea cucumber with mushrooms (small $17.90) for 4 of us. The signature chicken needs no introduction, it is simply tasty with their specialty ginger sauce. The cereal prawns took the longest to arrive, but its taste more than compensate for the wait. The cereals are very crispy and tasty. I found myself scooping scoops of the cereal into my bowl because it is really addictive. Not to forget the prawns are also very fresh and sweet tasting. The braised sea cucumber and mushrooms are also very well done, the gravy goes well with plain rice since the gravy used to braise the sea cucumber and mushrooms is very rich and thick. continue reading

Soup restaurant is of course, famous for their soup. They change their soup of the day daily, then for that particular day, the soup will come in small, medium and large size. For other soups which are not soup of the day, they will only be served in small sizes for one person's consumption. So that's a point to note when you are trying to order. I've tried the herbal chicken soup, which was great! A little bitter for most of my family members, but if you love the herbal taste like me, you will definitely enjoy it.On all the tables, you will definitely see their infamous ginger chicken dish. It's rather big, enough for about 4-5 people, with a big saucer of ginger in the middle. An absolute must try! Better than the soups they serve in soup restaurant in my opinion. continue reading
