The chosen venue tonight is Equinox @ Swissotel Stamford, for its magnificent cityscape views, high floor-dining and elegant ambience. We chose a Windows Seat so that we could dine with this kind of view looming in front of us. Yes, the night seemed to come alive, and the view is breathtaking - I believe Singapore's sensual night views have overtaken many urban cities' in recent years. The glowing Singapore Flyer making its rounds against the dark nightskies, the colors of the various skycrapers flanking the iconic MBS, and the Laser Shows etc were all worth the extra SGD$20.00 we paid for the windows seat. The Beau had a starter of Duck Consomme, Braised Duck Leg, Truffle Ravioli (SGD$20.00) . The consomme broth was herbal in nature, but strangely warm instead of hot, hence the grease was illuminated. The ravioli melted in the mouth, and the braised duck leg was crispy around the edges; the pairing was excellent. For mains, The Beau had the Slow-cooked Pork Cheek and Belly, Mushroom Escabeche, Coriander (SGD$58.00). The pork cheek was not cooked to a tenderness as I had hoped it to be, but instead was crisp and delicious in a chewy manner. The pork belly flanked some fatty parts and was an overall texture tease of tender flesh and bouncy parts. For desserts, we shared a Poached William Pear (SGD$18.00)- with scented Rooibos tea, honey, lemongrass sorbet and served with a lovely dash of dry ice, making the place so beautifully misty. The lemongrass sorbet was utterly refreshing, and paired with the grainy-textured sweetened pear, made this dessert an excellant choice. For full review and more photographs, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/12/dinner-at-equinox-swisshotel-stamford.html continue reading

Finally got a chance to try Equinox. Went there for my anniversary and managed to get a seat by the window. I then found out that a seat by the window has a surcharge! But nevertheless, we wanted to try dining by the window so we took it up. The view was awesome! Eating while facing the CBD buildings was amazing. Go during evening so that you can see both day and night sceneries! Sit away from the window and it feels very much like an ordinary restaurant.Service-wise was so-so. Though it was more towards fine-dining, the service did not reach that standard. Moreover, tables were too close to one another in my opinion. Feels like they were trying to maximise space and you could hear the conversations from the table beside! We ordered Foie Gras and Pork Belly. Both were delicious! Just that the latter was a little dry for my liking. Serving size was not too big as expected, bu they had free flow bread for appetiser which filled our tummies.Would visit again in future though, more for the view! continue reading

This restaurant is definitely one that has the best view from their window.  THe restaurant is very cosy and cooling, spacious and with comfortable seatings.  International buffet is served here and per adult cost about $60.  I enjoyed their fried mid wings as they are very crispy and meat is juicy and tender. Sliced cakes, especially the kaya cake is fragrant and not too sweet.  Also enjoyed their variety of sushi, which the rice is fragrant and very fresh ingredients are used in it. continue reading

Located on level 70 of Swissôtel The Stamford, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Singapore city scape, and decadent Modern European fine dining. The mains were average portions which were nicely presented. Prawns were well cooked, and the beef was tender and perfectly done for medium rare. Would I go there again? Probably not, due to the price. I would like to have the chance to try other restaurants instead. continue reading

The first thing you notice at Equinox is not its food. It's the beautiful view at 69 floors high, that overlooks Singapore’s CBD and all over Marina Bay. Overall, it's a good experience with such an idyllic setting, view, service and spread. Everyone should dine at least once up there! We made our reservation days back for a high tea buffet which is 330-5pm. There were the breads, scones, the local snacks such as egg tarts, kueh lapis, malay kuehs etc. Other side were the chocolate mousse cakes, walnut carrot cakes & etc. Other worthy bites are the mini lemon meringue tarts and chocolate fruit tarts. The tart itself were really crunchy and simply delicious.Western selection include salmon sandwiches, baked pasta, stew beef, meatballs and some main dishes. There were Beijing roast duck wraps and salads. The Chinese selection includes dim sum buns and dumplings - and there are bentos of sushi assortment for sushi lover. Despite it being a high tea buffet, I find the spread rather wide. The buffet includes free flow of TWG teas such as Honey Chamomile, English Breakfast, Grey Earl etc. However, Premium tea flavors are additional charged. Ice cream of diff unique flavors is available as well! The food quality for its high tea buffet will definitely simpler in comparison to the lunch and dinner buffet. I find the high tea duration is too short, it's only 90 mins & we were chomping our food down quickly. It would be great if it's 2 hours or so.
