From the creators of Montana Singapore is their latest addition on the second floor of POMO, the shop itself can be accessed through the entrance of Montana Singapore. They are marked at customizable donuts. You can pick from their Selection of :1. Gula Melaka Pineapple2. Apple Berry Crea Cheese3. Mango Peanut Butter4. Green Tea Yuzu5. Salted Caramel Nutella6. Chai Bandung7. Salted Yolk Cereal8. Dark Chocolate CaramelAll of which are priced at $5.50 each. You can almost choose to "Pimp your dough"Additional Donut at $1.20 each, more glaze at $1.50 each, more toppings at $1.50 and additional filling at $1.50 each. It's a full-fledged DIY donut counter! I believe that this is the first of it's kind in Singapore too!Check out their donuts on the right, all ready to be pimped up!They have a wide variety of glazes for the donuts which aren't commonly seen even in donut chains, such as apple pie bacon cream cheese, that's a mouthful! Butter beer popcron, red velvet crumble sounds amazing! Definitely unique toppings again, never seen around Singapore. They also have milkshakes at $6.80 which weren't ready yet during the food tasting session, but flavourts that stood out to me were Cheesey Cola which had coconut cherry cola milkshake with cherry cola sauce and watermelon lime foam!1. Dark Chocolate Caramel $5.50This is for chocolate lovers who like it extremely sweet and have craving for sticky sweet and salty caramel sauce. The donut itself was pretty sizeable. I definitely couldn't eat it all by myself. Just thinking about the calories is a sin by itself! In the syringe was the apple cider salted caramel sauce and to use all all the sauce provided, you might just get TYPE II diabetes no joke. I think half a syringe of it, was more than plenty!Don't get me wrong, I liked the sauce, but I also know the fine line with enjoyment and over-doing it! The granola added a nice crunch to the donunt, but being that everything on the donut was sugar ladden and you really couldn't taste the granola at all.2. Green Tea Yuzu $5.50Green Tea jasmine glaze with yuzu white chocolate cream and black sesame cookie crumbs. I really liked this donut! Yes I am a green tea fan and very sad that they no longer sell green tea waffles at Montana. I, however, unofficially declare this as a reincarnation of their green tea waffles! The green tea jasmine glaze didn't have a green tea aroma, instead, it just smelt like any sweet glaze. But digging in, the green tea glaze had a noticeable taste that though sweet, wasn't as sweet as the apple berry or the chocolate glaze. The white chocolate cream was also a bit too sweet for my liking and coupled with the black sesame cookie, which I really couldn't taste, again, because of the over-sweetness of everything being sugar overdosed! 3. Apple Berry Cream Cheese $5.50Smoked berry glaze with apple pie bacon cream cheese and granola. This was a visually appealing donut. The smoked berry glaze was vibrantly pink and the glossiness of the glaze was just so tempting! It gave off a strong and sweet berry smell. The applie pie bacon cream cheese was very thick, sticky and again, overly sweet. I do like cream cheese alot. But I would go easy on the syringe for this donut, maybe like 1/3 the dose? The smoked berry glaze worked very well with the donut. I might just order this donut with the smoked berry glaze and granola and skip the apple pie bacon cream cheese for now. Unless, I sense the lack of sugar in my daily diet.Even this is my first time trying such donuts, I do like them. They definitely stand out from competition and having spent so many years in the US chalking up donuts from all the various chains, Fabulous Dough gives new meaning to donuts!Fabulous Dough also continually gathers feedback to further improve their offerings, so who knows what they have in stored for us!Overall: 1) Nice interior decoration 2) Visually appealing food 3) Interesting DIY Donut concept 4) Only for sweet tooth! continue reading

Opened in December 2015, Fabulous Dough is part of the new dining concept offered by Montana Brew Bar / Montana Singapore. Sharing the same physical location in PoMo mall, Fabulous Dough offers creative glazed filled doughnuts, and house made milkshakes. Carving out a niche for themselves in plating and presentation, Fabulous Dough sticks a syringe into each doughnut / donut, allowing you to inject the yummy filling directly into the center!Ambience at Fabulous Dough, while sharing the same space as Montana Brew Bar / Montana Singapore, is designed with its own unique, quirky decor. Small round tables and yellow metal chairs line the black and white zigzag tiled floor, while tongue-in-cheek nostalgia / retro American posters hang on the walls. The area is completed by an open concept baking and serving area, complete with attractive glass display of all the toppings and fillings available for the doughnuts / donuts, alongside a large menu on the wall.Service at Fabulous Dough is also provided by the same staff of Montana Brew Bar / Montana Singapore, thus, you can expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with efficient and rather proactive service. There's little in the way of product knowledge needed for this though, as everything is clearly stated on the menu, and on display, although you can still question staff if needed. You could of course, ask for recommendations on combination of toppings and fillings if you decide to create your own doughnut / donut.Food at Fabulous Dough is all about modern American style doughnuts / donuts, and milkshakes. I like the warm, soft but chewy texture of the doughnuts / donuts, you're able to tear it apart easily, and it's semi-airy and light. You have a choice of 10 different fillings, and 16 different toppings, allowing for fun experiments in combining flavours! Portions are rather large for individuals, and sharing between 2 people is recommended. Prices are decent for this type of snack, budget about SGD $5.50 per doughnut / donut. The Dark Chocolate Caramel Doughnut (SGD $5.50) has a sweet and fruity orange infused dark chocolate glaze, topped with crunchy granola bits, with an apple cider salted caramel filling. The filling lends a savoury, salty, fruity layer of taste, complementing the fruity chocolate flavour of the glaze. Good! The Green Tea Yuzu Doughnut (SGD $5.50) has a earthy and floral jasmine infused green tea glaze, topped with nutty black sesame cookie bits, with a yuzu white chocolate cream filling. The filling lends a milky, zesty, citrus layer of taste, but I find it slightly overwhelmed by the much stronger grassy earthy flavour of the glaze.Full Fabulous Dough review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2015/12/fabulous-dough-tasting-session.html continue reading
