When to Whampoa Hawker Centre for late lunch decided to try this stall. I had preorder it and when to get some things at NTUC. When I return back uncle is like telling me yr Hokkien Mee already dry liao..lolHokkien Mee - The first impression although it is a bit dry due to my fault. But the taste is so yummy. Normally people will use thick Mee Hoon to fry but uncle uses thin Mee Hoon to fry and he is generous with the seafood also.I will go back again to try the fry Kway Teow and Hokkien Mee. continue reading

It was considered near to reach here, if you driving from Toa Payoh. I came here to try the Fried Kway Teow. My version was extra spicy, moist and tasty Kway Teow with fresh prawns and squids added. What I impressed was, kway teow was not oily. $3.00 which you can get a normal portion, it was enough for me. No doubt it was quite hot and stuffy at the hawker centre yet I enjoyed my Kway Teow very well. continue reading

As far as i have been living, in Whampoa, Hokkien Noodles, is one of the night markets best dish. It is easily available on the weekdays except Monday. Try getting this on a sunday night. One of my cousin's come all the way from Sengkang to this place if he ever wants to tuck in to this delectable awesome dish. An average plate enough to fill a normal person is $3 and for me well, i like it at $4. The noodles are nice and moist accompanied by fresh squid and prawns. The sambal is absoultely delicious as it is being treated with some lime to make this dish absolutely fantastic.I have been staying here for a long time and it has stayed the same way ever since i can remember on how the dish has tasted. The 2 brothers have known me to be a regular in that hawker centre. The taste is simply wonderful and they depend on each other to run the business. There is nothing more i can say. continue reading

My all time favourite Char Kway Teow stall. This stall's specialty is that the kway teow is not cooked to the extent that the kway teows are clumped together and it is cooked in a way that the dish is 'wet' with the dark sauce. It's not drowned with sauce but the texture is good. Very friendly owners who are brothers. They even take turns cooking at times but mostly, the younger one does the cooking. continue reading
