Harry's is well known as a bar. But what most people do not known is that it also offfers breakfast. Breakfast available at Boat Quay outlet from 8am to 10.30am.At first wanted to try the pot pie, but not available. The place was dark and stylish in decoration.Harry's Champion Breakfast ($14++)Juicy cheese sausage, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, baked beans and toast, topped with sunny side-ups.The bacon was super crispy like cracker. Crackling sounds when bitten. Just wish that it's less salty.Accompanied with a glass of Latte ($6++)Overall the food was not bad. I also served warm water by the staff too without being asked. I was surprised that there was no other customer besides me. It was cozy and enjoyable meal. continue reading

If you're in search of a place on the outskirts on town or at the CBD zone, Harry's Breakfast is an option not to be missed! At an alfresco along the Singapore River is Harry's, serving their recently launched breakfast from 8am till 10.30am daily. Personally, it was nostalgic to be at Boat Quay and peaceful in the mornings (especially on that Saturday we were there). And so, there we were! More than ready to dig into their 6 out of 8 dishes from their Modern European Comfort food for Breakfast - and boy, were we in for a treat on a Saturday morning!First came the Croissant Croque Monsieur! A buttery and soft alternative with the croissant - (apparently) was a new twist deviating from its traditional ways by Harry's. Filled with Ham and Cheese plus topped with béchamel sauce for a subtle sweetness, this dish was definately a favourite for me. It was chewy and almost melted in my mouth can?!  There's also a Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs Croissant for those who'd prefer something aside to ham. Then came Assorted Muffins, 4 flavours were presented to us: Banana and Peanut Butter, Raisins and Walnuts, Granny Smith (Green Apple), and Raspberry with Cheese. Seems like they have them baked fresh daily and there're special flavours of the day which you can check with the staff. But I was happy with the selection presented to us! At $2.90 + Freshly Baked + Yummy Flavours = SOLD I learnt something new about how the cut of this bread slices is called Soliders when the Soft Boiled Eggs & Marmite Soldiers was brought to us. Served with soft boiled eggs in a separately ceramic bowl with cover - this is best eaten once served and definatley is scrumptious alternative for our regular half-boiled eggs! Also the Soliders were cheesy... I like   Dig into the Chicken Pot Pie immediately once it's infront of you! The Chicken Pot Pie with its crisp exterior and creamy chicken interior is definately a one-plate wonder. The creamy chicken was surprisingly comforting on a fine Saturday morning. There's also Mushroom and Potatoes Velouté with Vegetables (option for Vegetarians).Lastly, the Fries up were served - Ham, Bacon and Mushroom Fry Up and the Vegetable Fry Up (option for Vegetarians). 2 sunny side ups with an assortment of ingredients and 2 slices of toasted sourdough bread (which we made into a heart-shape because it's what you do. Perhaps it was all the meat from previous dishes or perhaps one just needs their vegetable intake for the day, I seemed to prefer the Vegetable Fry Up with fine beans, mushrooms, peas and cherry (to-make-you-merry) tomatoes. Broke the egg yolks on the bread for a softer experience  Harry's also has Harry's Champion Breakfast which has all-the-works with sausages, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, eggs and toast - which we didn't get to try out. But look at all those that we did, there was definately no space left in the tummy zone! Another thing to note is... you can always add on "a little something for a heartier breakfast", ranging from meat options, Smoked Salmon, different types of toast or beans and mushrooms.Kudos to Harry's for launching Brunch - a very delicious one and tapping on their calming alfresco atmosphere. It's nice to have an uninterupted view at Boat Quay in the daytime (considering it's always been a place to hangout at night) with the lovely company of OpenRice members who enjoyed food and fun/funny conversations with  So, yes. Yes, go and have your brunch there one of these days before it gets filled in, daily. continue reading

Brunched at Harry’s Bar Boat Quay few days back. Wait, at Harry’s BAR?? Yes! They serve more than just alcohol and bar snacks! Diners can enjoy proper meal items at Harry’s Bar since a while back, and brunch menu is their latest new offering.Ham, Bacon & Mushroom Fry UpCombine all the wonderful breakfast ingredients and fry them up with eggs! Nice, savoury dish. Love the tomatoes as well. But the best part is definitely the ‘eggporn’!Croissant Croque MonsieurSoft, buttery croissant with thick laters of hams and melty cheese. Topped with bechamel that adds a tinge of sweetness to this combination. I love croissant in general and brought a simple croissant to another level.Pot PiePot Pie that warms the heart. Crusty puff pastry stayed flaky even after a period of photoshoot. Delcious, creamy and rich filling made this dish one of the best on Harry’s Bar’s brunch menu.Soft Boiled Eggs & Marmite SoldiersA unique dish where you are suppose to dip the marmite soldiers into the soft boiled eggs. Marmite can be a little salty on their own, but when eaten together with the toast and runny eggs, it felt like a good finger food, suitable for snacking any time!Hearty and eggy, the brunch at Harry’s Bar is sure to give you a taste of modern European breakfast. Great ambience, having to sit just at the edge of the Singapore River while enjoying some lovely eggs and sipping on some coffee and fresh fruit juices.Thank you @harrysbarsg & @openrice for the wonderful brunch experience! continue reading

Today limbeh is introducing a new place for brunch in the CBD. Harry's bar, better known for its bar grubs and alcohol, has recently launched their breakfast and brunch menu (available from 8am to 10.30am daily). This is definitely good news for office workers who might want a switch from their usual kaya toasts and soft-boiled eggs at nearby kopitiams. If that is not a good reason to attract you, how about its location at boat quay with a 5-star view of the Singapore river matched with some river breeze on a hot day. Oh yeah.Okay, their Croissant Croque-Monsieur (S$12) is new to my dictionary. Isn't croque monsieur usually consist of sandwich? Screw that shit. At Harry's Bar, a heavenly combination of ham and grilled cheese are encrusted within a nice, crispy croissant, that is topped up with another layer of cheese. Needless to say, this French beauty is baked to perfection. Oh, damyyyum.Fry-Up consists of two sunny-side up, fried together with either veggies and mushrooms (S$12, below) or ham, bacon and mushrooms (S$13), and topped with cherry tomatoes. The eggs were nicely done with firm whites and a slightly runny yolk, which is a great complement to the toasted sour-dough. However, the steep price might be a huge turnoff for many.Luscious Soft-boiled eggs paired with Marmite soldiers (S$7) are your atas version of the typical kopitiam breakfast - just that there is no pepper or dark soy sauce. These are soldiers that definitely pack a salty punch, but apparently, one of the food bloggers, praised it to the high heavens. For me, I felt like I needed a dialysis. I got to confess that I am not a fan of marmite though. An acquired taste, I supposed.Assorted Muffins (S$2.90) which comes in a variety of flavours, such as Oatmeal Apple, Raisin Walnut, Raspberry, and Banana Peanut Butter. They are baked freshly at Harry's Bar itself to ensure a tiptop quality of freshness - crumbly exterior coupled with a moist and fluffy texture within. Banana PB was my favourite amongst the four. Everything goes well with PB (and Nutella), no?Would you just look at these beautiful muffins? For that price, I would say their muffins are good for value, plus they are available for takeaway as well. Perhaps, you can tabao a couple for the beautiful office ladies you fancy? (insert cheeky smile here)All in all, Harry's Bar is definitely a great place to hang around and chill out with friends whilst enjoy the breeze and picturesque landscape. Their breakfast menu is pretty decent for a start, but improvements can definitely be implemented. Last but not least, I want to thank Reka from Openrice, as well as, Harry's Bar for organising this food tasting event, it's always a pleasure to meet like-minded individuals.Harry's BarTel: 6538 302928 Boat QuaySingapore 049818(~3 mins walk from Raffles MRT) continue reading

On a hot morning, was invited by Openrice editor for a brunch breakfast. There were eight of us and the above was the brunch menu. The view was fantastic and the staff were friendly and made us felt at home. Drinks were served promptly without asking for attention. The breeze with the smell of Singapore River was fantastic. This is my earl grey tea and Pineapple drink. It was so refreshing to have these drinks on a warm morning, the crossaint was delicious and appetizing what more do i want for brunch? The soft boiled eggs and marmite soldiers were ok but marmite is salty. i will prefer kaya or bovril to go along with the softboil eggs.I simply like this Croissant croque Monsieur, it as tasty and not too oily. I will order again if I am there. I love the vegetables and tastes organic. Ham bacon and mushroom fry up is the next on the list of the menu. It was delicious and i love the organic soft boil eggs. we all love this combo. Unique.Chicken pot pie is everyone's favorite with the invitees, all finished eating up this delicious chicken pot pie. I asked for more from other s and they said no more no more. Haha..These are vegetables fry up and good for vegetarian or on a lighter breakkie for he morning. The toast was too dry and hard though. The assorted muffins are moist and tasty and not too sweet, has the European taste. I would go for these with a cup of coffee or tea. Yummy..I really enjoy the brunch at Harry's bar at Boat Quay. Glad that they served breakfast and brunch. There is an aircon place if you afraid of being too warm outside.  continue reading
