Last time Qiu Lian Ban Mee was the best Ban Mee in Singapore, with savoury yummy soup and home-made springy noodles. However, my recent visit was quite a disappointment. The price was not very good, at about $5, you can get to eat more filling meals. The soup was quite bland and lack of meat "sweetness".The noodles was disappointing also. The noodles was soggy, not as springy as expected. If you want extra ikan bilis, you will need to fork out another $1. No more smiles to aunty and ask for free extra. continue reading

The FoodI ordered a bowl of ban mian sprinkled with generous servings of fried ikan bilis, minced meat, egg and veggie. What I like most is the rich and savory broth which complements the smooth handmade noodles very well together with the saltiness of the ikan billis. The ingredients are also very fresh and I also like the exceptionally spicy chilli sauce made with fresh chilli padi that burns my tongue but very shiok! The PriceReasonably priced at $3.50 per bowlOverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading

The Tom Yam Ban Mian I ate for dinner today at Nex was really great,as the soup was spicy and hot, awesome feeling when eaten with the extremely QQ (chewy) ban mian. The ban mian was served with cai xin, egg, fried anchovies, onion and garlic. The egg was not too raw or too cook, just nice. Love the texture of the egg when eaten with the ban mian. The price of the ban mian was not too expensive, reasonable for food court. The tom yam ban mian was about $5+.Service was not bad, the workers were quick. continue reading
