I've been to several events that had food catered by Stamford catering but never had the time to review it. Unlike specialized caterers, Stamford seems to have been catering for decades and serves to cater for large groups with simple dietary requirements. They aren't the most expensive and nor the cheapest, but you can also pick their cheaper options. They usually have credit promotions as well.Their honey drumlets are small and easy to eat. The meat was still warm about 1.5horus after arrival and the meat was slightly sweet and though not tender, it was easy enough to peel off the bone.Their curry puffs were a complete disappointment. Despite having a nice uniform crispy look exterior, it was 50% hollow! There was hardly any ingredients inside! These halal siew mai tasted just like the typical pork siew mai and they were gone in an instant! Here's my share of the food. The fried yam cake was dry and miserable.Alot of misses and the only hit was the honey drumlet. Even the mee goreng was very oily and tasteless. I've definitely had better experiences with Stamford Catering. continue reading

This is my first time catering buffet, and Stamford has exceeded my expectations! There were minor hiccups initially - Food was supposed to be readily set up by 6pm, but it was only ready by 6.30pm. However, the driver was very responsible as he called to inform me. The stools which I rented were with another delivery guy at a location 10mins away from my place. Instead of waiting for his colleague to send it over (which would be almost 7pm), the driver took initiative to head over and collect the stools. Very pleased with the service!  I ordered the healthier buffet menu B, with minor swaps of dishes. The ones highlighted in bold were the hot favorites that night  Personally, I loved all the dishes. However for the broccoli - the gravy could be slightly more flavorful in my humble opinion Broccoli with mushroomsSiew mai Pan seared teriyaki fish slices - Consider opting for this instead of the usual sweet & sour fishHoney baked chicken chop Fu yong sausage egg Gong bao prawn Fried hongkong egg noodles Singapore style fried riceVegetable slaw with cranberries and walnutsAssorted cream puffs - The chocolate cream puffs were really goodHoneydew pudding Ice lemon tea continue reading

Today a friend of mine is having house warming party at her new flat. She has catered buffet lunch from Stamford Catering Services. The food is delivered well before the appointed time, and nicely displayed on warmers, with flowers by the side. The Nonya Kerabu Bee Hoon 娘惹腌凉拌米粉 which is quite unique in a bright orange colour, actually tastes not bad. The Vegetables Slaw Salad 蔬菜核桃沙律 with Walnuts & Dry Cranberries is a simple coleslaw given an extra kick by the cranberries. The Vietnamese Spring Roll with Spicy Peanut Dip 越南春卷拼辣花生 is actually deep fried spring roll stuffed with bee hoon. Tastes not bad but would prefer it to be crispy. There is also Chilled Lychee w Mango & Crystal Grass Jelly for dessert which is quite refreshing for such a hot day, and tastes not too sweet too. The buffet also comes with Refreshing Lemon Barley Drink 鲜甜柠檬薏米冷饮 for beverage which has quite a unique taste. Overall the food is not bad and very filling.  continue reading

I always believed that M/s Stamford Catering Services delivers delicious cuisine and excellent service because it is owned by the Select Group of Companies, a public listed organisation with more than a decade of experience in food catering. After having this buffet dinner, I really doubt on their quality of food due to their usage of low-quality ingredients. It was so terrible that I cannot eat the second plate and I have to spend extra money to have my Mini Satay set at Lau Pa Sat Festive Market after attending workshop at Fundsupermart's head office. continue reading

I had meal served by Stamford Catering. I had fried rice. The rice was not oily and fried with mixed bean and carrot. The vegetable item that I had was bean curd with egg beancurd, mushroom and seow bai chye. It was watery and the gravy took up a lot of space and left not much serving. The meat item was the prawn paste chicken. The chicken was dry. There was not much seasoning and did not taste salty. Breast meat was served and it did not interest me. The seafood item was the breaded fish nugget with tartar sauce. I wondered if I was eating fish or fish cake. It tasted more like chewy fish cake. I had assorted local fruits such as water melon, pineapple, dragon fruit and honey dew. Generally, the food was alright. For a cost of $5, I would not grumble much of the lousy food but one thing for sure was that I would not order such items. continue reading
