As of yet, the closest restaurant that taste exactly like taiwanese food goes to Xi Men Jie. Whenever I crave for the food in Taiwan, I would head to Star Vista for their delicacy.Oyster Chicken Floss Mee Sua- SGD4.40The noodles are very fine and I love how the flavour comes off after soaking in the gooey oyster sauce. It is a mouth loaded with freshness and stickiness.. having both saltiness and sweetness at the same time.Chicken Cutlet Curry - SGD6.50. Add SGD1.20 for a set (comes with a drink). The chicken is crispy and evenly flavoured with spiciness.. and the curry sauce was piping hot. The noodles was really soft that it can be cut quite easily, hence you don't have to fear making a mess out of your food!Look at how delicious the noodles is! They definitely got a very good supplier for their food and the chef is a really good cook too! however, there were too little seats in the restaurant and i think it is really overpriced.. i guess they have to pay the lofty rental fees continue reading

It is located next to the supermarket, and sells a wide variety of Taiwanese Street Food. Due to its low pricing, I could see quite a number people queuing at the stall. But what attracts me is its Tea Time Menu. For just $5, one can select a choice of mee sua and a choice of drink. There is also a small seating area next to the stall, where one needs to press in order to open the door. It seats about 12 people.I have selected Winter Melon Lemon Tea as my choice of drink. It is chilled and does not taste too sweet. For the mee sua, I have select clams with chicken floss. It is topped with chilli sauce. The mee sua is quite thick and smooth.Overall it is quite average and well valued meal. continue reading

We order or lua mee sua, and chicken chop, when we taste the mee sua, it is so floury and sticky, not nice and fragrant, chicken chop too much flour with thin piece of chicken meat, great disappointment when eating both of them, their chilli powder also too spicy with chicken chop, mee sua with chicken meat and oysters, a bit odd, service slow and chicken chop badly done, not worth to eat at all. Elsewhere got better one at same price. continue reading

As promised, I'm finally back for their mee sua. Looks so tempting. Although I should not be duped again like previously on their rice set, but seeing so much of Taiwanese food on Instagram, it makes me miss Taiwan and their food. So for lunch today, I head down to have their Clams with Chicken Floss Mee Sua ($4) and a cup of Iced Lemon Barley ($2) that costs a total of $6.For that price though still not really worthwhile, but it actually tide away my yearn for the year-end trip to Taiwan. The mee sua was unexpectedly tasty and most importantly, not watery and thickness level is just right. Although it tastes the same like any others such as Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks and Snackz It (Ke Kou Wei), the one good thing is that they have few varieties to choose like oysters with chicken floss and crabsticks with chicken floss mee sua. I found only 3 clams and is actually fresh. Not fishy smell. Along with chicken floss (shredded chicken) and parsley, the portion and taste has me filled up to the brim. And end with a cup of ice lemon barley, lunch is just as satisfying. continue reading
