I first heard about Sumo House from a friend and I see that it is quite a popular joint for its wallet-friendly prices and decent food. So one day i asked my friend to bring me there to see what the hype is about. I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon which is actually udon noodles served in a pot. Pretty cool considering this is my first time eating this dish. Pleasantly surprised and i like the broth. The udon noodles is also cooked the way i like it, and i didn't get tired of eating it. Will bring my friends there after school for some decent Jap food!

If you are looking for reasonably priced and not not bad tasting Japanese food, do try Sumo house. They have relatively cheap bento sets. This is their teriyaki chicken bento set complete with baby octopus. Their teriyaki chicken is savoury and delicious tasting. It is tender as well. The baby octopus has a thick rich taste for the paste. A set like this costs about $6.

Sumo House is well known for it's cheap and good Japanese food among the residents and students around the area. I used to frequent the place a lot when I was still schooling and whenever I am around the area I will make an effort to go back again to have some Jappy food. My favorite is their cold soba noodles with assorted fried tempura set. I like the texture of the cold soba noodles as it is not mushy and is good to chew. The fried tempura is not oily but yet crispy on the outside. Comes with fruits and a small appetizer, it does feel full after one had polished off everything from the bento plate!

Japanese food to me is beyond love and soul. I must admit that their rice is awesome. I can't imagine if anyone would stare at me because whoever eat with me would think that I have been starve for years as they saw me made such a happy face when I see food! No, I just love Jap food XPI stick with my teriyaki chicken always. Fried chicken but somehow brings a fresh taste and juicy to me. (May be it's because the fat from the chicken drip out). They had fruit! I'm a healthy eater so after meal I just love to have a piece of fruit. Orange was just GREAT!Drooling MEg~~

The prawns used in their tempura are very crunchy, fresh and full of the sweetness from it. The size of the prawns are decently big which are very filling and satisfying with the japanese fragrant rice, cold mashed potato and some side salad on the bento container too. Dip the tempura in their sweet mayonise sauce or even with the sweet chilli provided by them are both equally nice ways to taste this yummy dish. A bowl of thick miso soup with lots of cubes tofu and seaweeds in it is also included in the set meal as well. Very value for money.
