Xin Xin Famous Fried Oyster has been a "Question Mark" in my mind for a long time as she was never in operation everytime during my visit at lunch time. After more findings, I learn that they are only in operations from 2pm till 10pm.It just happened that I was there during there one Sunday night for dinner and finally saw that they are in business.Ordered a smaller portion of their Fried Oysters.Though they were very crispy, I felt more like eating thin fried crispy tasteless fried pancake, perhaps with some burnt taste. To make it worse, the number of oysters is too miserable. Though this is not the worst Fried Oysters I had eaten, the plate of fried oysters were just below par. continue reading

After our meal, I got a plate of fried orh jian for the group of us to share. The omelette is quite crispy and tasty. Actually, orh jian is mostly egg and there are very few oysters. I find that the orh jian here is quite alright, it is not too fleshy as it is small, but the important thing is that it is fresh. The chili is sourish which is perfect because the orh jian is rather oily and having some sourish chili helps in removing the greasy feeling when eating the oyster omelette. I got the $4 portion which has around 6-7 oysters in the dish. While the dish is quite unhealthy, it is alright once in a while, especially if you are sharing it with other people. continue reading

The FoodI ordered a plate of Fried Oyster Omelette and is delicious. The crust is a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Oysters are very fresh and cooked with the perfect timing. However, the dish might be a little too oily for me but then still acceptable for meThe PriceReasonably priced at $4 OverallI find that this Fried Oyster Omelette is pretty good and one of the better ones in the west area! continue reading

This is one of the best fried oyster egg I have eaten. For a four dollars packet, there was really quite a portion of eggs and oysters. There were at least six pieces of oysters. The best thing about this is that there was not too much gluey starch and more egg instead. It was also crispy and the chili was good too! YUMS. continue reading

As the signboard says "Xin Xin Famous Fried Oyster", indeed, it's a hidden gem here. Situated in Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre, a stall that has been there for a long period of time.My mum is a fan of this stall and I would buy her this delicious oyster omelette for supper and tucked into it myself too. Sometimes, if the stall has many orders waiting, you might have to wait for a while since the owner doesn't rush his oyster omelette cooking, ensuring his omelette is well cooked evenly. He would ensure once it's nicely cooked and ready before putting the oysters in for the final and quick finale cooking. The omelette is thick and nice, not too oily considering that it is oyster omelette. Once you chew it in your mouth, the sensation of the omelette can be felt, delicious and tasty. The chili is a must and you pour it over the oyster omelette, it really brings in the taste of the oyster omelette. As for the oysters, it's pretty good in numbers and sizes too, considering the price that we are paying for it ! This stall gets popular during dinner and evening hours, if you are at Clementi West Street 2 Hawker Centre, do go and try it out ! continue reading
