Eat your way around the island in celebration of the nation’s 49th birthday this August. We've got a heaven of seven dining picks for you, ranging from cocktails to buffets that pay tribute to Singapore's heritage and culture.

Where: Jekyll & Hyde What: Enjoy 49% off a glass of "Gluttony". Fondly known as Mr Bean or 'That Tau Huey One', Lao Ban beancurd is mixed with vodka, butterscotch liqueur, frangelico and fragrant kaya in this local-inspired classic cocktail. When: 9 August

Where: Pacific Marketplace What: A four-tiered tiffin carrier stashed with eight Nonya delights ($58++ for two adults, with tea and coffee). Highlights include Kuay Pie Tee with Sweet Turnip and Prawn, , Nonya Chicken Curry served with freshly-baked French Baguette and traditional dessert favourites like Onde Onde and Kueh Lapis. Where: The Clifford Pier What: Tuck into a stunning Peranakan-style Seafood Buffet Dinner in the heritage chic ambience of The Clifford Pier. Highlights include Snow Crab, Black Pepper Crayfish with curry leaves and Singapore Style Sri Lankan Chili Crab with deep fried mantou. Where: Crowne Plaza Changi Airport What: To celebrate the heritage and culture that Singapore has built, Crowne Plaza reinterprtets some of our iconic local dishes with the use of specially imported ingredients. Think Laksa beefed up with Boston Lobster ($28++) and Rib Eye marinated in a nutty satay sauce ($35++). When: 1 to 17 August

Where: Charly T's What: Charly T's Chicken Rice ($9.90). Jazzing up their signaure "Best Chicken in the City" with a local twist, the rotisserie-style chicken pairs up with a traditional Hainanese Chicken rice prepared from Charly's mother's secret recipe. When: 1 to 31 August

Where: Jamie's Italian What: To celebrate Singapore's 49th birthday, Jamie's Italian created three dishes available for a limited time only. This includes a Chilli Crab Risotto and two cracking drinks Cracking Kachang and a non-alcoholic Viva Chendol, all inspired by our cherished local favourites. When: 4 to 10 August

Where: Swissotel Merchant Court: Ellenborough Market Cafe, Blue Potato and Crossroads Bar What: Chef Winnie presents an original 49 Layered Nonya Lapis Sagu in alternating layers of red and white. Each layer represents a year of Singapore's celebrated independenced, topped with a sugar-coated national flag. Available for dine-in only and priced at $9.90++ each.
