Explore the heritage of Teochew culture for $5 this weekend at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza for the Singapore Teochew Festival, launched by the Teochew Poit Ip Huay Kuan organization. Aside from arts and craft workshops and Masterchef classes, expect many notable Teochew food vendors at the event dishing out authentic eats like Braised Duck and Bak Kut Teh (Herbal Pork Bone Soup). To tempt you even further, well-known names such as Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh, Thye Moh Chan and Swatow Seafood Restaurant will be gracing the event and serving top-notch cuisine. Also, be treated to cooking demonstrations by chefs Daniel Koh and Eric Low, who will cook live to the audience from 25 September to 5 October. Chef Eric Low will showcase classic and modern interpretations of Teochew dishes such as – Sugar Cured Pork Jowl on Glutinous Rice, Mung Bean Spring Rolls and Crispy Flat Fish.
