When thinking ‘Eat all the Fresh Seafoods as You Can’, then the restaurant that's creating a buzz is Todai, the latest addition to the international seafood & sushi buffets in Singapore. Since its establishment in Santa Monica in 1985, Todai has expanded to several countries such as Korea, China and finally...Singapore! ‘Todai’ is actually a Japanese word which means lighthouse. OpenRice was privileged to view a 30-minute demonstration by 3 experienced Korean chefs on a swift & fearless preparation of the tuna (maguro) sashimi. Despite standing up for a long time and the fishy smell, it was all worth it as I saw first-hand how they prepared the fish before they served it.

We tasted the ‘chu-toro’ (almost resembling red meat) and the ‘oh-toro’ (fatty part which most people favors the most). With a large variety of fresh seafoods and international cuisine prepared behind an open kitchen concept, diners can look forward a whole new experience of buffet dining. All Todai Restaurants serve quality and premium food ranging from cold dishes including sushi (maki, nigiri, gunkan), to signature dishes like snow crab legs, green mussels and cocktail shrimp.
