Jollibee Opens First Outlet in Singapore
2013-03-11
The world’s happiest bee is finally here! Jollibee, the Philippines’ most popular fast food chain, is all set to open its first flagship store in Singapore on 12 March 2013. The outlet, which seats 300 people, is located on the 6th level of Lucky Plaza. This brand from the Philippines is popular for its signature items which include the burger called Yumburger, sweet-style Spaghetti, and the crispylicious Chickenjoy. Eventually, it will also be bringing in Filipino favourites such as the Palabok Fiesta, Lumpia (egg roll), Halo Halo, Apple and Peach pies. “I was so happy when I found out that Jollibee is opening in Singapore,” said Jinky Bernales, a Filipino engineer who has been living in Singapore for 4 years. “That’s the first restaurant on my list whenever I go back home. But now, I can enjoy my favourite Chickenjoy right here in Singapore!” Founded by Filipino-Chinese businessman Tony Tan Caktiong in 1978, Jollibee is also the largest restaurant chain in the Philippines. As of today, it has over 92 outlets all over the world and is present in countries with a big Filipino community—the United States, Qatar, Dubai, and many more. Contest has ended. Congratulations to OpenRicer neribells for winning a free food tasting with three friends at Jollibee!
