Savour 2015 Highlights: My Little Spanish Place
2015-03-19
Award-winning cuisines, over 50 signature restaurant dishes, a gourmet market and celebrity masterchef classes. These are just some highlights of the annual casual gourmet festival, Savour, which is set to return from 26 to 29 March 2015 – just seven days till the F1 pit building fills up with foodies, hungry for a culinary adventure like no other.
My little spanish place chefs
From the line-up of top chefs who will be present at the four-day event, keep your eyes peeled for Chef Edward Esmero of My Little Spanish Place. The co-chef partner of the classy and homey Spanish restaurant in Bukit Timah was born and bred in Philippines, comes heavily armed with over 10 years of international training and loves to Zumba when he’s not cooking up a storm in the kitchen.
Together with Spanish native Chef Maria Sevillano, the duo will be whipping up platters of aromatic Spanish cheese and cured sausages, house made marinated olives and Chef Edwards’ specials such as an eight-hour slow braised short ribs in red wine, potato puree and crispy parsnip, as well as pan seared scallops, spicy red pepper puree, serrano powder and a crispy sweet potato shaving. For those looking for authentic flavours of Spain, other must-try signatures include Chef Maria’s personal favourite, Tortilla de Patata – a traditional Spanish egg omlette with potatoes, onions and homemade aioli, Gambas al Ajillo – prawns cooked in white wine, olive oil, garlic and paprika and Coca de Probadura – flat bread with chorizo probadura, caramelized onions, pine nuts and manchego cheese.
