Back from a $7 million makeover, Shokutsu Ten at Jurong Point now boasts double the space with a total of nine restaurants, as well as a Japanese-inspired pop-up event plaza holding 10 retail and food kiosks.
The massive 17,000 square feet food street is split into two distinct themes – Tokyo and Osaka – with intricate architecture detailing and historic icons hoisted near the ceiling. Look up and you might just spot the ninja!
What’s new
Japanese pasta lovers can now subdue their intense cravings for Mentaiko Carbonara ($13.90) at Kabe no Ana - The Cafe. Under the helm of resident Kabe no Ana chef from Japan, Shogo Nishimura, this outlet features an exclusive café menu with all-day breakfast items and coffee specialty drinks such as Iced Coffee with Coffee Jelly ($8.80).
Another new restaurant concept, Shabu Tontei, has hot pots and Shabu Shabu perfect for the current rainy weather.
Over at the pop-up WAttention Plaza, expect an ever-changing selection of street food and retail kiosks. An ongoing 10-day Rakuten Japan Gourmet Festival organized by the Japanese e-commerce platform Rakuten, will be held here till 4 Dec.
