What's Still Good at Ang Mo Kio?

You've always known what's good for sure, Are these your favorite? Let's revisit these hawkers for some foodgasm today!



The Lao San Kway Chap is located at the Block 232 HDB Ang Mo Kio. Eaten with the flat rice noodles and the braised ingredients, they are worth the wait as they are often crowded.


Seletar Sheng Mian & Mian Fen Guo was located at Seletar Food Centre and now they have moved to Kebun Baru Food Centre. They are really good with the noodles and do make their own hand-pulled noodles. The Sheng Mian is thin stringy noodles while Mian Fen Guo is thick and flat noodles. You get to choose the noodles either one of them or both for dry or soup based. They are generous with the portion of minced pork, vegetables, and prawns for each bowl of noodle.


The Centre Satay Bee Hoon is located nearby Ang Mo Kio MRT station. Luckily, the service is fast and the line moves quickly which most of the people get to taste their noodles. They only serve two items on the menu which is the Satay Bee Hoon which comes with the satay peanut gravy and the Cuttlefish Kang Kong which come with sweet sauce. Salivating? 

Yunos N Family is at the Blk 724 Ang Mo Kio Food Centre and is one of the few Halal stalls in the food center. Do come here to try out their mee rebus and satay! The Mee Rebus with Chicken comes with satay sauce which differs from most of the other Mee Rebus gravy. The satay meat can be chosen from chicken, mu, ton and beef or the tender tripe. The satay sauce is adds on the flavour the sauce is not too oily and there are plenty of peanut in it.

Another Muslim food recommended in this neighbourhood and they are well-known for their Drumstick Mee Soto and Power Mee Reebus. The Chicken Drumstick Mee Soto here comes in a good portion. They serve a whole and big chicken leg for the Mee Soto. As for the Power Mee Rebus, the gravy is flavorful and they are generous with the toppings like the fried shallots and green chili enhances the taste.

Soi 19 Thai is well-known for their Thai Wanton Mee that many patrons are there for! There is often a long queue at the stall but people are still willing to queue for it. One of the favorites here is the Dry Wanton Mee which comes with thick slices of char siew, waxed meat, fried wantons, and vegetables. Springy eggy noodles, you'll love it!


The Xi Xiang Feng Food is at the same location as Yunos N Family which is the Blk 724 Ang Mo Kio Food Centre. Come here for the Yong Tau Foo and Chee Cheong Fun. The stall owner has been selling more than 30 years of Cantonese style Yong Tau Foo in Ang Mo Kio with the specialty homemade chili sauce and sweet sauce. The fish paste used is fresh and bouncy. Do come early to try them out to avoid any long queue during the lunch time!
