For instance, the theme of Harry's in this branch was purely on "Travel".

Ambiance was very different from the usual bar I have gone to even though the place by default has given us a relaxing feel.

There was another section in Harry with sofa chairs and travel decorations. Its like travelling on a time machine into another world.

With traveling theme, there was one portion on the wall with maps and different timing on a few countries.

Having things like this will make patrons like me feel nostalgic.

Since Harry's is reputable for its Western Bar, Pub image, there are no surprise to see so many bottles of alcohols on the elegant shelving.

Starting of with the small plates, pairing with Harry's Signature Premium Lager was simply enjoyable to wind down oneself after a long day of work under such cool environment.

And this coaster just came right in the time with words saying "I used to think drinking was bad for me...so I gave up thinking." At that instance, I cant agree more on that.

Fish Crackling was a perfect kick off to the wonderful evening giving a good sense of crispy bites. Made from Eel Fish and lavished with spring onions as well as their in house spice mix. Flavour of this crackling just wouldn't run out if you dip them Aioli which bring such simple side plate to another level with creamy mayo and garlic taste.

Great for a start and perfect for a pint! Their Signature Wings are something you should not be missing when you enter Harry's. These wings were not firey hot despite of the chilli padi that was demonstrated. Dressed in their secret spice and deep fried into its fragrant condition, they were part of the ultimate treat in the night. For those who like extra dose of spicy kick, you may enjoy them with their homemade chilli Jam.

A wonder mixture of blue swimmer crab meat with potatoes can never go wrong.Deep fried and giving a light crunch, to enjoy it at the fullest, dip them into the Sriracha Tomato Dip.

The miniatures burgers caught us off guard, it was too cute to be eaten. The mini buns were both toasted with juiciest steak, charred bell peppers and jalapeno cheese sauce sandwiched in between. They were served in trio with a acceptable spicy level.

It's so hard to skip having alcohol in Harry's afterall, they have given a perception that they did it best in serving alcholic beverages. Their signature cocktail of vodka, Dirty Harry, was served with brown sugar, lychee liqueur and a small wedge of lime, a perfect refreshing treat before going into the Big Plates.

Enjoy one of the popular flavourful indian dish, chicken Masala with toasted charcoal bread under Harry's Big Plates in the menu. Chicken Masala was thick but it didn't get us bored by having the dish alone, in fact it was rich in spice and the charcoal bread stood in well to soak up the dish's essence.

The chicken were plump and tender. Just a look!

Wanna get more of blueswimmer crabmeat? Try out their spaghettini with freshly handpicked crabmeat, toasted pine nuts, fresh cut chillis all in the tangy tomato sauce topped with yummy rockets.

Washing down all the food, we have a perfect ending to the session with a glass of fruity Moscato together with the dessert.

I have never expected a pub serving such indulging dessert. This crisp tart were made up of thinly sliced apples on crust pastry with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. The both sweet and saltish caramel sauce had given the experience to another stage.

The new tasting menu had given a surprise treat and change the perception of Harry's in me. I guess now Harry's have given additional choices to patrons not by just their alcoholic beverages but also the interesting bites.

Attended my first food tasting hosted by OpenRice and Harry's last Thursday. Thanks for the invite, OpenRice! Was really excited for I have not dined or drink at Harry's before, was really looking forward to the food and drinks and on the whole, it did not disappoint!

The Clarke Quay travel-themed outlet with a warm and cozy interior decor is the latest addition to the Harry's family. Located alongside various bars and restaurants, and near to the fountain, the place is relatively easy to find, given that I do not visit Clarke Quay often. The bar and dining establishment offers quality drinks and delectable modern european cuisine. On the table during the food tasting session are a selection of Harry's new Menu, consisting of Small Plates, Platters, Big Plates, Desserts and of course the drinks!

Fish Cracklings

First up is the crispy, crackling (true to it's name) and very addictive Fish Cracklings ($13) which I couldn't resist! Think eel fish skin and garlic mayonaise dip, and there you have the winning formula! These crispy darlings are even good on its own without the aioli dip.

Harry's Signature Wings

Harry's Signature Wings ($13 for 6pcs/$19 for 10pcs) is another personal favourite. Already good on its own with Harry's secret spice, it is all the more alluring with the homemade chilli jam. Not to worry for those who can't take spicy food, it is not going to put your ears on fire, skip the chilli jam if you are worried. With or without the chilli dip, it is finger licking good!

Crab & Potato Cakes

The Crab & Potato Cakes ($19 for 6pcs) will definitely go well with crab lovers! The blue swimmer crab and potato cakes have a very strong crab taste with a light tinge of lemongrass. Didn't really like this as I felt the crab taste was too over. So, I had it dipped in lots and lots of the Sriracha Tomato Dip in an attempt to cover the crabby taste. Apparently it didn't really work, true quality ingredients used indeed! That explains the higher price tag.

Harry's Premium Lager

The above three small bites or Small Plates as it is called, are great finger food especially for those who just want something light to go with their beer! They are perfect with a pint of Harry's Premium Lager ($13). For someone like me who don't usually drink, I find this refreshing and not too strong. I will definitely order this if I were to dine at Harry's!

Grilled beef sliders with bell peppers and jalapeno cheese sauce, the Jalapeno Steak Sliders ($13) has a tinge of little and light spiciness. A great bite size platter to share. These mini burgers looked good but tasted quite ordinary. Didn't impress.

The Dirty Harry ($16) is served next, to pair up with the Big Plates which are the mains. A signature cocktail of vodka, brown sugar and lychee liqueur, it is refreshing and zesty. But I didn't finish the glass, as I find the alcohol content slightly high. Not a drinker, so vodka is considered quite strong for me. Happy enough to manage a few sips!

The Chicken Masala ($23) is a surprise crowd pleaser. Didn't expect much from this but it turned out that this became my favourite main dish for the night. Generous chunks of soft and tender flavourful chicken with an aromatic gravy that was not too overly strongly spiced, it was a delight savouring this with the toasted Charcoal bread. A must order!

Crabmeat Spaghettini

Another Big Plate served is the Crabmeat Spaghettini ($23). A tomato sauced based spaghettini cooked with fresh crabmeat and toasted pinenuts. Simple and perfect comfort food for the tomato pasta lover. I personally do not fancy tomato based spaghetti, (I'm more of the al dente aglio olio type of person instead), so this dish did not appeal that much to me.

Toffee Apple Crisp Tart

There is nothing best than to end a meal with a sweet dessert. The Toffee Apple Crisp Tart ($14) is a sweet thin-crust dessert with thin apple slices and spread with salted caramel, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Quite a nice dessert, except that the tart itself was not crisp, it's actually soft on the contrary. It's not overly sweet too, you must have every bite together with the ice cream, and you get the right taste! Love how the ice cream complements the dessert itself!

A glass of fruity sweet Moscato ($13.50) is the perfect drink to go with desserts! The fruity dessert wine is sweet, refreshing yet subtle, which concluded our delicious dinner on a sweet note!

If you are thinking of great drinks and food for a good chillout gathering or to unwind after a stressful work day, do drop by at Harry's latest outlet at Clarke Quay! Try it and you will know!

For this food tasting, we were treated to 10 items from their new menu which consists of 3 small plates, 1 platter, 2 big plates, 1 dessert and 3 alcoholic drinks.

Small Plates

Fish Cracklings (S$13)
The eel fish skin is so thin and crispy that it really goes "crackling" on every bite. Served with aioli (garlic mayo) for those who doesn't like it plain. As for me, I prefer to eat it on its own as the spice mix that is sprinkled on it already gives enough flavour to this.

Crispy wings dressed in a secret spice, is considered spicy enough on its own for those who can't take spicy stuff like me. Go with their popular special formulated chilli jam that taste like sambal chilli to level up the spiciness of the wings.

Crab & Potato Cakes (S$19 for 6pcs)
Shredded blue swimmer crabmeat mixed with mashed potato, this really have the strong "crabby" taste. Though its fried till golden brown, it doesn't feel oily at all. Have it with the Sriracha tomato dip to enhance the flavour.

Perfect pair with small plates. Being not a beer fan, I didn't ask for a glass as I do not want it to go to waste. Well, I guess I have missed something good.

Jalapeño Steak Sliders (S$13)
Semi tender grilled steak topped with charred bell peppers and jalapeño cheese sauce. Bell peppers give these bite-sized burgers a tinge of heat yet not too spicy. A little disappointing as this taste quite normal with no surprise factors.

Big Plates

Chicken Masala (S$23)
Was quite surprised to find this here as I was in the impression that only western-styled dishes are served here. Tender chicken chunks in rich spiced gravy served with toasted charcoal bread, this is indeed flavourful. Rather amazed by the bread as it really looks like blocks of charcoal.

Crabmeat Spaghettini (S$23)
This tomato based spaghetti may taste a little monotonous for some but I find it perfectly complements the fresh crabmeat. The simplicity of the tomato sauce enables you to taste the freshness of the handpicked crabmeat which I was lucky enough to have eaten some crabmeat chunks. A not so fanciful dish that brings out the best flavour of the ingredients.

Dirty Harry (S$16)
Enjoy a glass of their signature cocktail of vodka built with brown sugar and lychee liqueur with the big plates. Fruity taste with very high liquor content (at least its high for me), a pity I have to control my intake as I can't hold my liquor well.

Desserts

Toffee Apple Crisp Tart (S$14)
Thin sliced apples on a pastry crust drizzled with salted caramel and served with vanilla ice cream. One of my dining partner commented that its too sweet but I find the sweetness acceptable. The letdown of this is the crust which is not crispy making it a little difficult to cut. Sweet dessert with a tinge of saltiness makes this different from the rest.

Moscato (S$13.50)
Fruity dessert wine with 12% alcohol. Sweet and refreshing, definitely suitable for people who can't take alcoholic drinks. You can bottoms up this without having to worry of getting drunk.

I have never been to Harry's before. So it was indeed my honour to be able to join OpenRice for their Food Tasting session @ Harry's Clark Quay. This is their latest outlet where their interior design takes on inspiration from Harry’s travels and adventures around the world. We could see maps, postcards and items from all over the world as deco in Harry's, and there is this quote at the storefront which i like quite a lot - "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer". This is their latest outlet where their interior design takes on inspiration from Harry’s travels and adventures around the world. We could see maps, postcards and items from all over the world as deco in Harry's, and there is this quote at the storefront which i like quite a lot - "Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer". To me, i feel that food is another thing we buy that could make us richer as well (No just getting richer in terms of calories & fats haha xp)! From food, we get to find out more about the various ethnicity and culture through taste, as well as meeting new friends who bond over food! While travelling, we must definitely try the food in those other countries right? Hence i guess nothing is more suitable than placing this quote in a restaurant/bar where one could bond and chillout with friends over food and drinks =)

We tried a few dishes from a range of their revamped menu (Over 50 new items!) and i must say some of the food are really good! Worth mentioning are their Chicken Masala & Harry's Signature Wings, which are my personal favourite.

Their Chicken Masala was presented in a traditional Indian pot, with a few pieces of charcoal bread by the side. It is amazing how the chicken meat can be so soft, and we found out that it was actually grilled first before cooking in the pot of masala. The flavour of the spice is not too overpowering and goes really well with the bread, or even drink it on its own. Would personally prefer the masala to be a little more spicier though (Good to have this option people who like spicy food). At $23++, this is a great dish to be share amongst friends.

Another of my favourite, the Harry's Signature Wings, was indeed their best finger food to have. The wings are crispy on the outside and the meat are tender on the inside. With their unique Home-made chilli jam this is indeed a must try for all spicy food lovers! Other finger snacks served include Fish Cracklings with a special Garlic Mayo sauce (Personally not a huge fan of fish skins and mayo though), and the Crab & Potato Cakes which are really exquisite with the Sriracha sauce. These finger food goes really well with the Harry's Premium Lager (Not featured), and are good for sharing with your friends over a few glasses of beer!

Next up are the Jalapeno Steak Sliders and Crab Spaghettini. The mini grilled steak burgers are served in 3s, which are easy to bite and gobble down although we heard that we are suppose to savour it slowly in order to taste the tinge of heat of the Jalapeno inside. The Crab Spaghettini was good, although i would personally prefer it to be stronger in flavour. As it is a tomato-base pasta, the tomato flavour could have been stronger. I could taste the fresh crab meat inside as well, although some of us had prefer it to be in larger chunk.

We were served the Dirty Harry - Harry's signature cocktail of vodka with brown sugar, lime wedges and lychee liquer. I personally like this drink a lot, as it has a refreshing and fruity taste, and i could taste the little bits of sugar as well. Dessert was Toffee Apple Crisp Tart with Moscato - A sparkling wine with fruity taste. Dessert was good although the tart was not really crisp though, but it does go well together with the Moscato.

Do visit their new outlet @ClarkeQuay if you are looking for an adventure or some place to chillout with friends after work. Would defnitely love to be back there again to try some of the other dishes as well! =)
