If you're a real foodie, you'd know that Serangoon Garden is one of the places that has lots of awesome food around! One of my favourite dessert places is Dessert Bowl. Dessert Bowl is located at the second level of a row of shop houses along Serangoon Garden. There is only one branch so far in Singapore at the moment. Durian Mousse. I'm not sure how much is a bowl (sorry someone treated), but it's definitely less than $5. Thick, creamy and topped with a generous scoop of pure durian flesh! If i am not wrong, Dessert Bowl is the only decent chinese dessert place around Serangoon Gardens. It is very crowded at night, especially after dinner time. They have a variety of desserts, but they specialize in a few mango and durian desserts, much like Ji De Chi. I tried the Mango Ai-yu (which has coconut milk, hence the milky colour), which was rather unique; mango puree was alright, and ai-yu added a refreshing taste.…查看更多

I proudly declare this my most favourite dessert destination in Singapore.I have tried many items on their menu and so far they have been really impressive. Here are 2 of their hot-sellersurian Mousse, $5.This is to-die-for. You can smell the strong aroma even before the waitress delivers this to your table. The mousse itself is already very thick and creamy and bursting of durian. Topped with a generous amount of real durian flesh? Eating durian on durian mousse? I can never get enough of it!Rock Melon Sago, $4.This is heavenly refreshing. Crunchy juicy rock melon balls swimming in a finely ice-blended version of its own juiciness. It screams its presence as you eat it. You feel the sweet, juicy and icy cold sensation flow down your throat and into your stomach. A good place to go for dessert after eating at CHOMP CHOMP.Dessert Bowl is a place that i will recommend people to chill with your friends after having dinner nearby at Serangoon. It may not be easy to find but look out for the signage as it is at the 2nd level along the shop houses.There were seats when we went there at around 8pm and we got to seat at their sofa seats. There are 2 sofa seats and, it is a great place with aircon to rest and chill with your friends!We ordered 3 desserts to be shared among us. All the desserts on their menu looks so awesome. I will suggest people to order different kinds and share among yourselves in order to taste the different desserts that they sell.We ordered1. rock melon with sago2. Mango PomeloThis is nice. highly recommend! It is a chilling dessert and it is very refreshing to eat on such a hot weather in singapore.3. Durian MousseI will highly recommend this too. It's my first time at serangoon gardens and after dinner at chomp chomp, my friend recommended us to have desserts at dessert bowl! Quite a quaint cafe with some Taiwan feel in it, it feels comfortable to be just there! We went relatively at an early time, at about 7pm, so there weren't many people yet. We ordered the signature durian mousse, mango pomelo and rock melon with sago. The durian mousse did not disappoint at all!! It's rich, creamy and authentic. It makes you keep wanting to have more!! On the other hand, mango pomelo and rock melon with sago serves as a combination after the very rich durian mousse. It is light and refreshing. And this is where we went after Chomp Chomp Dinner!Again, H recommended this place which is near Chomp Chomp, within walking distance.Perhaps great minds think alike, we bumped into H's sister and her friends again.Earlier they had finished their dinner and left.Small world it is, both sisters did not inform each other about coming here.Hence we were quite lucky again at getting the seats of H's sister as they were just finishing up their dessert as we came.I really love the cosy setting of the place and the menu is so cute haha, with a baby face for cover :)H highly recommended the durian paste so we decide to order one with another hot favourite the mango pomelo!Waiting time is quite reasonable and fast and boy, the durian paste really is 真材实料!!!! I tried this mango dessert with gula melaka that time. It was really good.The mango was sweet and not the sour kind. And if you love gula melaka, you should definitely try this. The durian mousse of this dessert place is strongly recommended. I heard it is their number 1 best selling dessert. I was first greeted by the aromatic durian smell. The mousse consists of durian mixed with vanilla to give it the intense flavor. Real chunks of durian are added to enhance the flavor and taste too. It is really addictive. I went back again. This time, i ordered the Strawberry Black Pearls for $4. It consists of those black pearls used for bubble tea and bits of real strawberries in the dessert with shaved ice added. The level of sweetness was just right. It tasted rather refreshing. The black pearls have got a soft but chewy texture. It goes well with the strawberries and i liked it a lot. …查看更多

A friend brought me here after lunch about a year ago and ever since then, not a month went by without at least 1 visit. The durain mousse is to die for, the mousse is thick and it has a generous spoonful of durain instead. For someone like my wife who does not like durain, there is the mango ice with generous cut mangoes and a vanilla ice cream to top it off. My kids love both so they have to best of both worlds as we order different things. They are value for money, at only $5 for durain mousse and $4.50 for mango ice.A piece of advise is that their finger food are not their flagship product, just keep to the desserts!The chairs are not that comfortable though, maybe they want a higher turnover rate. Yam fan like me will not miss out the yam paste here at Dessert bowl. The yam paste is very smooth in texture and not too dilute and not too sweet in flavour. Generous amount of ginger nuts which is quite chewy are cooked in this dessert. I really like the fragrant coconut cream which has been added to it which give that better appearance and also that creamy sweet taste to this dessert as well. Dessert @ Serangoon Garden's Dessert Bowl - after having dinner nearby...my partner Suddenly crave for durian... so we thought of going for some durian desserts at Dessert Bowl.... but we were there quite late you see... it's around 9pm and it's a Sunday! any dessert with durian is all not available.. so disappointed... the demand is really high though...Mango Ai-yu (Very nice, alternative when the famous durian mousse runs out)FYI Ai Yu jelly is the same Ice Jelly that we have from those hawker centre or food court store... just that in taiwan they are known as Ai Yu... and in singapore we just call it as ice jelly..Melon Sago (Quite nice and refreshing) but i will prefer Mango Ai Yu more...the place is crowded with ppl during weekends... and groups of friends usually like to come here and hog the seats too! annoying isn't it? do bring a ear plug if you could... ppl there like to talk very loudly...and the shop should consider removing away the 4 sofa seats, so that they can accommodate more hungry ppl, isn't it?So if you want to try their famous durian mousse do drop by early before it is all gone..…查看更多

A newcomer has burst onto the dessert scene at Serangoon Gardens, which already hosts popular dessert outlets like Frolick, a yoghurt specialist and Ice Cube, which sells ice cream and the like. However this new dessert place, aptly named Dessert Bowl or 一碗甜品, caters to people who prefer Chinese desserts.Dessert Bowl can be rather difficult to find, given that its on the 2nd floor and plays neighbour to a pub along a quiet row of shophouses that houses OCBC as well. It definitely doesn't help that the signs are not prominently located. However make your way up and be rewarded by the sight of a brightly lighted cosy area which can probably take about 30 people or so. If you are lucky, you might just get one of the 2 sofa seats that overlook the roads below through the huge glass windows.Rock Melon Sago - A very typical Chinese dessert, the rock melon sago wasn't outstanding and I personally found it a tad too sweet. But having said that, I don't remember the last time I had a rock melon sago that made me go wow. So maybe its just me.Strawberry Ice - I didn't get to try this but from what I understand, the strawberries were very sour but other then that, no other complaints.Mango De Creme - My original order of the Durian mousse was sold out so I thought I would try something a little different, namely the Mango De Creme, which was essentially custard with toppings of mango cubes and puree served up in a tin foil container. The custard came across as smooth and firm, very much like the texture of creme brulee. I'm not sure if it was effort on the part of the shop or pure luck that the mango cubes were sweet but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Overall a rather enjoyable dessert.I don't really eat alot of Chinese desserts so I'm not sure if $10.50 for 3 desserts is considered expensive. But personally I think its still acceptable especially when this is definitely a cheaper alternative to Ice Cube. The dessert menu is rather extensive and that would probably be a good reason for me to drop by often for an after dinner dessert session.…查看更多

I like this.The mango is topped with sago, pomelo and mango cubes.The mango is fresh and sweet but I wished that they will put more pomelo. But the sago make the dessert taste very smooth and soft.It is really ncie..!This dessert I ordered was very unique, it has strawberries,mango,icecream and bubbletea pearls.This is a very refreshing and nice dessert.
