We order the Katsu Don and Teriyaki chicken, we love everything from their miso soup (different from outside, not saltish), salad (dressing seem to have added something), teriyaki chicken (cook very well), chuwanmushi (nice), their don also sweet and fragrant with egg and pork, my hubby seldom like to drink miso soup but he like this soup very much. Overall ingredients quality very good, food is cheap and high quality for this kind of price. We will go back eat again. We can feel the chef cook it with passion, one of the best hidden gems in golden mile. highly recommended.

Ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Set meal, which comes with a chawanmushi, miso soup and watermelon slice, at just $5. The portion of meat is just right (or might be slightly little for big meat eaters), with a generous portion of cabbage in thousand island sauce. The chicken taste really nice with slight crisp on the skin and tenderness in the meat. Chawanmushi taste far better than any other chawanmushi offered in hawkers, but of course still slightly pale in comparison to restaurant standard. In conclusion, the japanese food offered here is definitely value for money and taste great in terms of hawker standard. IMO one of the best Japanese food stall in hawker centres. (its unfair to compare it to restaurants of course).

I ordered a bowl of Katsu don which is served with miso soup together with another side order of chawanmushi. The katsudon wasn't too bad- the rice was sufficiently soaked in the egg, teriyaki sauce mixture so the resulting rice was not overly dry. The katsu pieces were also not too tough and quite flavourful. I only wished the egg could be less cooked and more runny. The chawamushi was also very decent- the texture was light and bouncy and full of egg flavour, which was quite enjoyable.

Portion wise, it seems to have downsized quite significantly. The meat was quite little as compared to the past review and the taste was quite bland, though the meat was tender. The crispiness was better than expected though. The miso soup was not as strong tasting as the usual bean flavoured soup. The rice was soft enough but lacked in taste,

This is a good place for value for money japanese foods.I paid $4.50 for a set of chicken katsu set. The chicken katsu was quite a big piece and with a large serving of cabbage with thousand island sauce, a bowl of miso soup, a bowl of rice and a piece of watermelon for the set. A special sauce was given too. The texture of the rice was a little wet and the chicken katsu was not well marinated, it tasted a little bland but not oily, so it is still pretty acceptable. And, the special sauce was a little too salty. The chicken katsu tasted better without the sauce. No matter, it is definitely good value japanese foods if you have little expectation.
