The boiled soup of the day turns out to be melon with pork rib soup, served in a pot. The soup is available in 3 sizes with the middle size just nice for 2 - 4 persons. A full bodied soup with tender and soft pieces of melon and pork ribs.

 Samsui Ginger Chicken ($16.90++/ Small)
A smiple dish of boiled chicken, served with its signature minced ginger sauce and lettuce. Just eat it wrapped with the crunchy lettuce, with a dash of sauce in it, it is heavenly. The ginger sauce just peaks up the dish. If that is not enough for you, there is bottles of the ginger sauce for sale at the counter too.

A well loved dish which I often had when I was young. Cooked in spicy sauce, it is very nice with just plain rice.

Cooked with pepper corns and red pepper, the dish give a numbing effect but wihtout the spiciness. Tasty. Currently there is a OCBC credit card promotion, where the dish is free with every order of Samsui Ginger Chicken.

Coupled with 3 bowls of plain rice($0.90++/bowl), the total bill comes up to $52.26. Water is served free. Service is quite fast and smooth.

We went for lunch at Soup Restaurant as we missed their signature chicken dish. Soup Restaurant is one of our favorite chinese restaurants and we will visit it at least 4 times a year just to savour their chicken. We went on a weekday so the service was especially attentive since there is not much of a crowd in the restaurant. The chicken meat is always very tender and the sauce of ginger in the middle of the dish is what makes the chicken especially tasty. The chicken skin is also tasty as it is not too fatty and everything when eaten as a whole is just divine. The large portion is large enough for 5 people but for die-heart fans of the chicken like me, I would think I will be able to easily polish the plate off with just another 1 or 2 person!

Soup Restaurant's Samsui ginger restaurant has always been one of my favourites around as the ginger is powerful enough to match the taste of the chicken. We decided to go to the branch at woodlands after my father ended work. We ordered 3 dishes: double boiled dried scallop with black chicken soup, fried kang kong with fermented beancurd and also the star of the night: Samsui Ginger Chicken! We ordered 3 dishes: double boiled dried scallop with black chicken soup, fried kang kong with fermented beancurd and also the star of the night: Samsui Ginger Chicken!

The soup came quickly after we ordered and I must say, the ingredients were more than the soup itself! Plus points for them! From the picture, you can see the the scallop is a huge chuck of scallop which is happily floating around, waiting for me to ingest it. There were also mushrooms and some herbs at the bottom. This dish has a description that says that it improves your memory/attention, good for those kids who are busy studying and trying to memorize facts into their little brains!

I didn't really like this dish as I felt it was a little dry. The fermented beancurd taste also didn't really stick with me. I still ate it as I needed some greens in my diet otherwise I feel really uncomfortable.

Lastly, the Samsui Ginger Chicken! I was not disappointed by this
The chicken was smooth and soft, paired with ginger, it was impeccable! The layout of the dish also impressed me as it was really pretty. My family had to ask for about 3-4 more plates of ginger before we could finish this whole dish! That's how good it is!

Soup restaurant has the best chicken ever! Their ginger sauce is so tasty that you can even eat it alone! The chicken taste best when it's dipped with the ginger sauce and wrapped with lettuce! It is so tender and fragrant that the after taste stays in your mouth! There are lunch and dinner sets to choose from, depending on the number of persons. Soup restaurant is one of the best chinese restaurant in Singapore!

A nice dinner gathering with family for my birthday @ Soup Restaurant. Of course, Sam Sui Chicken is a must try dish when you dine in. By wrapping the chicken pieces with generous amount of garlic mixture that was displayed in the middle of the plate with the crispy lettuce, you will never regret ! 'YUMMY', 'YUMMY'. Other than that, there are other dishes like long bean, sambal prawns, sweet and sour pork and more which are also recommended dishes. Below are some pictures of the food Sam Sui

This is the top popular dish @ Soup restaurant. Individual have to wrap the chicken with lettuce that was provided. I love the tender chicken together with the crispy lettuce is a good combination.

 Curly Garlic Prawn
A very nice dish to match it with the rice. The prawn shell was already plucked out initially therefore you can simply eat it easily without dirty your hands.

This soup is rich in herbs which contains lots of good stuff inside.

 三水鸡, their popular dishes which everyone would order. The chicken is tender and juicy
it will be better after putting garlic and ginger sauce on top of the chicken.

 阿妈番薯叶, a dish which is cook with sambal chilli the spicy-ness is just nice for me. for people that dont like spicy food, they can order 阿公番薯叶 which is the non-spicy one.

The total amout of this set meal is $75+ inclusive of 10% Gst and 7% service charge.

Soup restaurant is more on chinese style.I quite like this White chicken.The chicken is very tender and soft.It is also very soft.It is a bit like the hainan chicken.The sauce they give is the garlic oil.It is very nice.The chicken taste well with the garlic.The cucumber is also crispy and fresh.To eat this with some rice or kuey tiao is very nice.

I quite like this White chicken.
The chicken is very tender and soft.It is also very soft.
It is a bit like the hainan chicken.The sauce they give is the garlic oil.It is very nice.
The chicken taste well with the garlic.
The cucumber is also crispy and fresh.
To eat this with some rice or kuey tiao is very nice.

This is samsui chicken from soup restaurant.Their display is very high standard. Chicken really taste smooth. Thier ginger and sesame oil sauce really fantastic. The lettuce suppose to use as a wrapper for the chicken and sauce. Some people like to eat the chicken with the rice. When i left, i saw that other tables all ordered this dish but the lettuce were either untouch or left with 3/4 portion which really wasted the food.

We had our reunion dinner at Soup Restaurant this year!Although the service was not as good as usual due to the crowd, but the food taste as good!If you love chicken, try Soup Restaurant's Samsui ChickenIf you love soup, try their Lotus soup or soup of the day.If you love fish, try their slice fishif you love fried rice, try their scallop fried rice Recommended to go with more people to try more dishes, and their samsui chicken's serving is rather bug, about 3-4 people
