I just had *Tong Fong Fatt Chicken Rice* the other day at *Block 16, Bedok South Hawker Centre*. The taste is a far cry from what it was 6/7 years ago; it used to taste delicious but now it’s horrible! *The rice is half-cooked* and you cannot taste the fragrance of chicken stock; it’s as if they are just serving plain rice! The *price of the chicken rice for the exact same portion varies*, as if it were at the stock exchange; for the same portion, sometimes it costs twice as much.The service is just as bad; especially so by the *tall, bald gentleman “chopping the chicken”*. He often *cusses at his colleagues*, using *all sorts of dialect expletives*, it’s really embarrassing for them and for us (customers), especially when we have children in tow. If he is the one taking order, I would be more careful not to ”customise” my meal because he’s *impatient* and would definitely give me earful if I am “slow” to order. His bad attitude is made worse during Horse Racing Days whereby he would be in a foul mood for being “disturbed” from his horse-racing activities and meal portions will either be halved or *charged at an even more expensive price*! Overall, the standard of this stall has dropped tremendously and I would give it a miss, as do many customers. This is another outlet of Tong Fong Fatt at this food centre. There was a queue of few people when i was there on a late Saturday evening. I ordered a packet of chicken drumstick rice with liver for $3.50 to take away. The rice was cooked nicely to the right texture and very flavorful. The chicken was not disappointing as well. The liver bits tasted just fine too. I would not say it is particularly outstanding but it was definitely decent. It would even be better if the portion of rice is more generous. …查看更多
