My family and I were shopping at Marina Square and decided to have some Chinese Food. We chanced upon this Bao Today which sells Dim Sum for the whole day.

We ordered a few dim sum from the menu. The steaming hot baskets of Dim Sum order came quite fast even though the restaurant was almost full of customers during lunch hour.

The prawn dumpling and scallop dumpling had fresh, crispy whole prawns, though the skin of dumpling was not so moist.

The green colour bun was Golden Sands Bun. I was not sure why they coloured it green. The bun was stiff and the filling was more of custard taste than salted egg yolk taste.

The xiao long bao had slightly thicker skin, but the filling was quite juicy and meaty.

Overall, their dim sum taste was above average and price was affordable.

We ordered 10 dim sum item(include on big claypot of congee).. HAha.. Hai, NVM.. Next time, would come and visit again for this 30% discount on 3pm to 5pm.. Haha... Btw, the food was not bad... HAHA... Btw, I regretted ordering the congee and rice roll, it was quite bad.. Hmm... Ya... (no offence! own view oni la) .. The prawn dumpling and siew mai was good.. esp the prawn dumpling, there are BIG PRAWNS inside.. And the carrot cake was VERY good.. the fried prawn dumpling was as good too! My Ah ma dislike the Xiao Long Bao..HAHa..

Overall a B grade given ba..( because the congee and rice roll "pull" down the overall rating ba)haha... Other DIm SUm was quite good..haha..

We didn't have to wait very long for our food, due to the efficient service of the staff. We ordered a steamed chicken glutinous rice in bamboo shoot ($6.80) and a cheesy seafood baked rice ($7.80) to share. I absolutely love the steamed chicken glutinous rice!!
Generous amounts of tender chicken with yummy glutinous rice. The cheesy baked rice was good too as it was served steaming hot, and with lots of seafood inside. Extremely satisfied and we will go back there very soon!!

I love how the bao can still be made really soft even after one day. An the sesame filling inside was like molten lava! I bit into it and the filling burst out. Literally exploded out like thick lava! It stained my shirt (and the stain is still there after repeated wash ): But it was worth it as I think the bao is really good!

We also ordered the steamed creamy custard bao (2 pcs for $3)

Similarly, the filling also burst to life! Luckily this time I was prepared and it didn't stain onto my shirt. This is the more known as liu sha bao.

Really good and I will definitely try their other "die die must try!"(says the menu) items!

Frankly speaking, I didn't come with a lot of expectation. Although the restaurant has been around for so many years, this was actually the first time I was trying out the food here! We got a table outside the restaurant, near John Little.

Since we were here at this restaurant, where the name includes "Bao" (Bun), we both felt that we might as well order some buns to try since they should be the restaurants' specialty. I looked through their menu and they have quite a variety of interesting bao that I have not seen before. For instance, the open-faced buns (Half a Bun). When we were still flipping the menu, deciding what to order, suddenly one of the service staff put a glass of grass jelly drink loudly on our table and walked off. I got a rude shock and also puzzled at the kind of attitude of the staff. Fortunately, the other staff who served us were quite alright and even apologized to us.

Probably we came with low expectation, we felt that the dim sum served here was rather good. Thus, I would like to come back again to try their other dim sum!

Oh yah... I also want to mention that their fruit drink was not worth the price tag. I ordered passionfruit drink and it was just concentrated fruit drink and tasted terrible. Thus, next time when I am back, I will just order their milk tea.

My partner was not feeling all that well that very day. Coupled with the fact that we were in fact having a late dinner so we ordered somewhat lesser than what we normally do. In the end, just a simple century egg porridge for the missus and mai kai for myself. As i said, the siew mai is a must order. The prawns in the ha kao is also fresh as well with the thickness of its skin being nicely judged.

Foodies are also encouraged to try their liu sha bao (yellow lotus bun) and curry chicken with rice.

Discounts are offered to standard chartered card holders. (10% on 20 SGD minimum spending)

i tried out their assorted porridge as well. they offer quite a variety of porridge. in this porridge, it contains scallops, fish and the condiments seen in the picture. it's more of those cantonese porridge which is sticky and to my liking!!

we liked the liu sha bao , cos the filling inside is egg custard and salted egg which melt when in your mouth , the skin of the bun is soft too.

The wanton is also smooth and the filling is full of meat , the soup is clear and refreshing .

The price of all the items are reasonable and nice to eat at . I will come often to try other items

the chee cheong has filling of char siew and sauce , the skin is soft and the char siew not oily meat .

They do not charge service charge here, so you are expected to write your orders down on a mini menu chit and pass it to a nearby waitress. I am a big fan of custard bao and I still like their serving of Steamed Creamy Custard Bao ($3) which is made out of flowy custard, salted egg filling encased in a nice pandan bao dough. I did notice the buns seemed a little smaller and the fillings are not as generous as before, but still I like the combination of the warm flowing custard filling with their unique pandan bun flavour.

I also had their Steamed Carrot Cake with Dried Scallop ($4) which was definitely served hot, as shown in the picture with lots of steam. I enjoyed the chewy pieces of carrot cake topping with a little sesame, spring onion and dried scallop bits. The carrot cake isn't too oily and goes very well with the soya sauce provided below. Very satisfying!

If you want cheap and delicious dim sum, I will recommend that you visit bao today. Basically, you can order as much as you want without burning a hole in your pocket as the price is really very reasonable. Most importantly, the quality and taste of the food is not compromise despite the fact that the price is relatively lower. This is my second time trying the Kong Ba Pau (braised pork belly in black sauce wrap in bun) and I must say that the place serves one of the best Kong Ba Pau which I hav

Bao Today has a really catchy name (not to be confused with Justice Bao). We had claypot porridge, shrimp and spinach dumpling and custard bun. The claypot porridge was rather tasty. Some people might find it bland but you could add soya sauce if desired. They were very generous with the fresh ingredients like fish slices, scallops and prawns. The shrimp and spinach dumpling was a must try item, but it was rather normal. Good thing the prawns inside the dumpling were fresh and not too overcooked

The shrimp and spinach dumpling was a must try item, but it was rather normal. Good thing the prawns inside the dumpling were fresh and not too overcooked so it still had a nice crunchy bite to it. There was quite little spinach bits though.

The custard bun is special. This is the first time I'm having custard bun made with green pandan dough. Surprisingly the pandan flavour went well with the warm flowing custard filling.
