I have ordered more than ten dishes, but here are five quality dishes I want share.  braised chicken claws are very soft and easy to eat, which is sweet and fragrant with slight spicy in it.

THe siew mai is filled with fresh crunchy prawns that make this mini dish delicious and the siew mai skin is thin and not too salty too.  Sweet and sour pork is super crispy and the pork meat is flavourful and tender. The added capsciums and pineapples have also enhance the taste to this dish as well.

Hot sour soup is thick and full with the nice flavour from the black fungus and the different spicies used.  Delicious and a second serving is defintely worth it.

French beans are crunchy and fresh and full with the nice sweet and a little salty flavour from the dried prawns cooked in it.  Service here is very fast and friendly as well.

As it was the CNY period, the regular a la carte menu and value sets were not available; we were shown a special CNY menu with a limited range of auspicious sounding dishes. We picked the pork shank, sauteed 'three cup' chicken, spinach tofu and the baby cabbage with bamboo pith.

The Braised Pork Shank ($22++) at Zhou's Kitchen needs no introduction - robustly flavoured and meat tender enough to fall off the bone at the slightest touch.

Taiwanese style 'Three Cup' Chicken ($16++) was served in a steel claypot - another hearty and flavourful dish to go with rice. The dish could however use more fresh basil leaves to add a different taste dimension to it.

Spinach Tofu ($14++) and Baby Cabbage with Bamboo Pith ($16++) were ordered to ensure a nutritionally balanced meal. Plating of the spinach tofu could have been vastly improved. The BB cabbage.in superior stock was a light dish garnished with specks of dried wolfberries. The bamboo pith remained crunchy to the bite.

Service was courteous and competent - consistent with the high standards of other Tung Lok restaurants.

Look no further for a quiet place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Zhou Kitchen at Far East Square is the right choice. Ordering starts from 3pm to 5.15pm for their weekend hi-tea buffet. They have a wide range of dishes for ordering. From the common Shrimp dumpling to the more unique crispy fish skin with spiced powder. One can order as much as you think you can eat but do take note that any excessive wastage will be
charged as the normal selling price of the item.

After ordering, the waitress will serve the dishes. The serving time is quite fast maybe also cause there's not much crowd at this outlet. Without any MRT, this place is quite inconvenient to go to.

After trying almost 85% of the dishes in the menu, the following is a few must-ordered item picked out by me.

Soup is tasty and it got me craving for another bowl. Dumplings are pipping hot and same goes to the bun. Fried bun is my favourite even without any gravy to go with, I still like it very much. Need to order some green vegetables to let the tastebuds take a rest from the fried dishes. Not forgetting the yummy noodle to complete the meal. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Each set meal entitles for two Dumpling in tomato soup. I don't personally enjoy the dumpling very much. The skin is slightly too thick, and it just tastes not too right to be served in the 'tomato soup'.

For the main dish, I had the Fried noodles. It is alright, tastes Ok, but slightly plain and not much ingredients though.

Another option for main dish is Stewed Yam and pork. The rice is served with a sunny side up fried egg. This dish is delicious. The yam is cooked till soft and absorbed all the flavour from the sauce. The pork is tender too. Yummy.

To my dismay, none of the food items were very satisfactory, and i was not happy with the food at all.

The coffee pork ribs were too sweet and had very bitter aftertaste. The crispy fish skin tasted like paper to me :/ The wu xiang was very ordinary, coffee shop standard. The siew mais was a disappointment as the skin was hard and thick.

The fried noodles was one of the better dishes that i liked out of the bunch.

Years ago when I patronised, orders were taken inaccurately, food served untimely, and that very much spoilt the dining experience.
Back to 2011, these areas have been improved, not too sure if the occupancy affects (3 tables for buffet including mine for the entire restaurant) but glad to see that something has been done. For some reason, the service crew were mostly gloomly throughout my dining. The lady who brought us to our table hardly smiled, it was only after taking much orders from us that she began to ease up on her facial expressions. The lady captain for the day, gave us an impression that we either stole her money or jinxed the restaurant for the cricket-like quietness. No smiles throughout from her and another elderly female waitress.
The fact that there were only 3 tables occupied, does not quantify waitresses and captain to THROW the order clips to their clip basket. My table was just 1 metre away from this attitude coarse attitude!

For the spread, you can pretty much order everything once, within 2 orders for a total pax of 5. I wouldn't say that the paucity of the spread is the lacuna at Zhou's for there are some good ones and many others which have nothing to shout about.

There are so many others to try out but I guess I'll just name some of the usual calls and the better ones :
Char Siew Bao aka Steamed BBQ Pork Bun
Not too sweet. Not very fluffy texture and occasional rigidness of meat.

Char Siew Su aka Baked Flaky BBQ Pork Pastry
Meat was more tender than that of the Bun.....very weird...

Fried Eggplant with Pork Floss
Thinly sliced eggplant brought to deep frying served along with pork floss. Good good good! Not too oily

Fried Noodles with Soya Sauce
Almost equivalent to Ee Fuu Mee but of different noodles. Not too salty and appetizing, though the noodles were a little overcooked

Steamed Guo Tie with Sichuan Sauce aka Chinese Gyoza
Succulent filling. Good mix

Pan-Fried Carrot Cake
A little dry but quite tasty, seems like they put a little pumpkin in it to make it taste sweeter

Pork Congee with Century Egg
Each serving comes in an individual bowl. With each bowl, you can find ONE small slice of century egg, the size of your PINKY's NAIL. I repeat, not your pinky, but the size of your pinky's nail. Apart from that, the congee was very watery and pretty much tasteless.

Rice Dumplings aka Tang Yuan
Not hard and not soft. A hell lot of flour and little fillings.

The rest of the dishes were just OKAY, nothing exquisite. Try to avoid the Deep Fried Chicken Marinated with Prawn Paste aka Har Qiong Kai as the chicken is not served warm. What I was told from the captain when I addressed it to her was " This are cooked all at once already." Rendered speechless. Period.

After taking our last orders, the crew members brought out their dinner to one of the tables in my area. They had a total of 8 dishes for approximately 12 crew members. Seemed like that were having a feast! But that's not the point. I cannot understand why management will actually allow crew to dine and talk in the same area as customers, within 3 metres. Looking at how things go, I don't see how Tong Lok Group can actually afford to keep Zhou's alive, at least for the buffet.

*Do take note that Mini Egg Tarts are no longer served as part of the Buffet menu.
