Passing the stall in Northpoint, been tempted by the smell of food. The stall sells a variety of dim sum items such as siew mai, paus and deep fried spring roll. At first decide to get 1 pau, but in the end get a box full of mini cha siew paus to share with the family.Mini Cha Siew PauThe pau is quite small. But it is quite filling with chunky meat inside and thin skin. It tastes not bad, only abit too sweet.

Ingredients in decreasing order: Porridge, century egg, pork, fried onions, ginger, "cong", oil. As you can see from the first picture, there is a layer of oil at the side. Without the oil, the porridge actually taste a little to the lumpy side. When mixed together at the second picture, the porridge texture changes: smoother and easier to swallow it. The oil may not be healthy for you, but it makes the porridge taste better. Further more if the oil used is olive oil, it may be good for you none

When mixed together at the second picture, the porridge texture changes: smoother and easier to swallow it. The oil may not be healthy for you, but it makes the porridge taste better. Further more if the oil used is olive oil, it may be good for you nonetheless. The porridge, I could say, is a balanced meal to a extent
.

I really love this porridge mainly because of the more than enough century egg to most people. To me, it could still be added more. But I have to say that this century egg porridge has the most amount of century egg in it compared to wherever I have eaten. And I can say the chunk of the century egg is not cut into super small cubes where you could not taste the century egg. On the other hand, people who don't really enjoy century egg will find this dish a disappointment. But wait, why would you order this if you don't like century egg? I mean, it's called century egg porridge for a reason and not porridge century egg!

The minced pork ball is so-so. I assume it is marinated mildly only but good enough for me.

Because my friend bought this for me in the morning, the ginger slices are still really fresh as I could taste from it.

The fried onions however, is a little disappointing. It is because I could taste that it is actually processed and not literally fried from them. They may have bought this in bulk to save hassle
. Would be really good if they could fried it themselves. But what can you ask for if you are only buying this delicious porridge filled with a lot of century eggs medium sized cube at only 2.50? Yes, all these only for 2.50. You could upsize to 3.00 but for me the normal 2.50 one is good enough for me.

Really recommend it for century egg porridge lovers
.

This is probably a classic breakfast for us Singaporeans, and somehow, I felt like having it for dinner one Saturday night. So, before reaching home, I dropped by Northpoint to buy chee cheong fun, which I never tried before. I ordered 2 boxes of it, one that has char siew fillings, and the other plain, they both came with good garnishing and a tub of sweet sauce. I also ordered egg tart and lotus pau for my mum. When I reached home, I tried the chee cheong fun, and wow, it hits the spot! It is

When I reached home, I tried the chee cheong fun, and wow, it hits the spot! It is SOOOO delicious, everything has been cooked just right. The sauce isn't too sweet or salty, the chee cheong fun has an extremely smooth texture, one that you find in dim sum restaurants! I was so amazed by the great consistency, honestly. This, I super recommend. The lotus pau and egg tart were pretty average though.

Bought the glutinous rice kueh at $3.50 for tml breakfast as there are five in one packet which is good for a family to share. Feel that the taste is not very fresh, probably because they packed it there after steamed. The kueh also did not stick with the rice after bite. Probably their pao is still better afterall.

By the pictures it look nice but it is the opposite.

The wrap chicken is too meaty, not marinated nicely.

The vegetable bao is not flavoursome at all.

Worst of all is the custard fried bun, the custard inside already cool off and it taste yucky. It is as though you are eating the dough.

And the total was $9.50, I rather spent it at some nice dim sum restaurant.

Ho kee pau sells a variety of snacks ranging from pau to siew mai. As for me, I am a siew mai lover so as per normal, I bought five pieces of siew mai and it costs me $3. The siew mais were piping hot andthey gave out a very fragrance aroma, tempting me to eat them. Taste wise, the siew mais are a bit salty but the texture was good, you can taste the tender meat and the shrimps or small prawns. You get a sweet and salty after taste though. Size wise was jusy nice for one mouthful per siew mai.
