Bringing the nephews to Jurong Bird Park, so we decided to start our day at Toast Box. The boys had toast while I had Mee Rebus. Both the Peanut Butter & Floss are on thick toast. The toast is crisp on the outside yet soft inside. Peanut butter is thick & flavorful; floss toast is a bit bland but the condense milk below is sweet. Mee Rebus sauce is a little bland also 繼續閱讀

My friend from hong kong was craving for Singapore laksa hence we went to the Junction 10 branch as it is less crowded on the weekends. This bowl of laksa is serve with "lao shu fen" instead of the thick bee hoon. The "lao shu fen" absorb the laksa gravy better than thick bee hoon and every spoonful of it is flavorful. They replace the cockles with prawn. There's fish cake and laksa leaves which make the soup more fragrant. The laksa gravy is quite spicy and luckily we bought the laksa set that come with a barley drink. 繼續閱讀

You guys may be surprise what so good about these half boiled eggs, but I can tell you they are simply delicious and also quite different from the versions sold from other coffee shops and food courts. The egg yolks are simply bigger and thicker. The egg white portion is also very smooth and thick in texture. The combination is really good and with or without the added dark soya sauce added in it, the taste is equally good! 繼續閱讀

Toast Box has been popular for their interesting spread of breakfast sets (e.g. hebi hiam thick toast, otah thick toast, bo luo bun etc.) However, we being more traditional, prefer the standard offering of kaya and peanut butter toasts.Peanut Butter Thick Toast + Tea ($3.30 nett)The toast, coated with generous amount of peanut butter spread, is crispy on the sides and fluffy in the middle. Their peanut butter (one of their specialties), is creamy with real peanut chunks added for that extra crunchy kick. Would have been prefect if the toast was thicker, however, given the price of only $1.70, it’s still a pretty gratifying indulgence of calories. Kaya Toast Set including Eggs + Tea ($4.60 nett) The kaya toast however, paled in comparison to other chains such as Ya Kun and Wang’s Café. For about the same price, there were only 2 thin slices of kaya toast, not really value for money huh? The kaya was average (somehow I find it lacking the fragrance and flavour of kaya compared to Ya Kun’s which is one of my personal favourites). The only saving grace was its generous slab of butter which I found to be quite satisfying. The eggs were pretty standard (unlike the giant eggs of Wang’s). Overall, it’s a decent place for a simple weekend breakfast where one can relax over a cup of tea, toast and newspaper. 繼續閱讀

i went to toast box for tea with my mum. We ordred an otah thick toast to share. The toast at toast box is really good, they have both the sweet and savoury kinds. I found the otah toast really good, the otah was rather moist, it made the toast dun taste so dry. the otah was not too spicy and when eaten with the bread, it taste less spicy. i think this is a must try if you happened to be at toast box. 繼續閱讀
