Not as good as expected as a Michelin one starPortion is small but good enough for girls Suggest to go earlier as late afternoon some style of noodles will run outNo service should be expected as it’s basically a tai pai DongWill visit again if the queue is not tat bad 繼續閱讀

Tai Wah / Tai Hwa Pork Noodle are well known for foodies in Singapore. The conflict between these two stalls made the headline a while back, until today it seems the bad blood are still there. Each of these stall have there own staunch supporters, so its all come down to personal preference. My first encounter with Tai Wah Pork Noodle during their time in Bestway Building. I remember that stall was run by the parents and a younger gentleman. Knowing my Chinese was not very bad, the mother was very friendly and patient when taking my order. Not long afterwards, the shop there was closed and I saw this stall in Hong Lim recently. This time around I ordered the $6 soup version. You might be saying, what? $6 for Bak Chor Mee ('BCM')? Well just consider BCM is the Ramen version of Singapore. It will be less ouch when you pay for it.For $6, I get quite a big bowl of noodle, which can fit my face with lots of condiments like mince meat, meat balls, pork liver, flat fish, wantons and seaweed. The broth was robust, but on the lighter side. It has the sweetness from pork bones. The noodle is springy (qq). The liver are cooked to medium, pink in the middle and tender. I notice that instead of throwing the mince meat and liver to the pot, they pour hot water on them on the bowl while they are cooking the noodle. This must be the key to the yummy pork liver. The dumplings / wanton are good. The meat are well seasoned and you can taste the flat fish flavour in it. Meatballs was springy and crunchy.Overall, Tai Wah Pork Noodle serve a very good Bak Chor Mee. All the ingredients are cooked perfectly. If only their broth are more robust, I will consider them one of the best. First time trying the famous bak chor mee in Hong Lim. Had the $4 dry mee kia, quite a small portion of mee but packed with lots of ingredients including meatballs, liver, dumpling, minced meat. There was a lot of liver which I dun eat, maybe next time I should request for no liver. Other than that, it was a yummy bowl of mee, love the mee, the dumpling, even the soup was rich and tasty. It is definitely msg free coz I could only taste the real and true taste of the ingredients, mee and soup. Now, I know why it is more expensive than the usual hawker fare with prices of $4, $5 and $6. 繼續閱讀

This stall had quite a long queue too, selling only pork noodles dry/soup (either kway tiao, mee pok or mee kia). I ordered a mee pok dry with chili @ $4. They also sold bigger portions for $5, $6 and $8. For a $4 portion, it is quite little compared to other stalls however, it is just right for me The noodles are very 'Q', the rest of the ingredients are considered average, not bad. Overall, it is worth a try! 繼續閱讀

A friend of mine have been asking me to try the pork noodle here, it was on his list of 'Must try food' list. I reached at about about 1030am, and there is already a queue of 5 people. Ordered the soup based minced pork noodle and surprisingly, the soup is extremely nice. It tasted like its boiled from the bones of the meat than MSG-flavoured. It was so delicious that i emptied the bowl, wanted to ask for an extra bowl of soup but the queue doesnt stop as lunch is near. The noodle is tender and chewy and it doesnt have a usual heavy noodle flour taste. Although the portion is little and it is not cheap as it cost me $4, i will definitely bring more friends to try this! 繼續閱讀
