Ordered a set of pork curry Tianjin rice with dumplings. Dumplings were comforting. Reached there in late afternoon. Seem like crowded too. Waiting time is short. We started to order Fried rice set, black vinger chicken set and vinegar pork set. I like the soup as taste simple but tasteful. The fried was good but slightly salty. The signature disk was Gyoza dumpling. Almost all set serve with Gyoza and soup. First time here. Ordered via the iPad, very high-tech. Ordered the children meal, together with Ramen and gyoza. There are 2 choices of childrens meal. We ordered the set which is nicely set in an aeroplane, with rice, gyoza, and fried chicken. While the serving is attractive to a child, the taste is only so so. I think the chicken is a bit too salty/marinated for a child. A bit disappointed with the gyoza, as I had great expectations of it before i come. But it tasted a little bit burnt. The ramen which I ordered is the prawn ramen. I like it because it is not as salty as those I've tried elsewhere. Noodle serving is ok but prawn/other toppings could be more.Service by staff is very good as she attends to our queries and requests promptly. This is one of my favorite place for lunch as they provide reasonable priced and delicious lunch sets. however, during lunch time it could be quite crowded. I ordered the ramen set which is the cheapest set of the restaurant. Cost $9.90++ comes with a bowl of char Siew ramen and 3 pieces of their signature Gyoza. This restaurant is very crowded during lunch hour as there are many offices around this area. The set lunch is delicious and value for money. This set cost me $10.90  ++comes with a few pieces of karage chicken, 2 pieces of fried Ebi 3 pieces of the restaurant's signature Gyoza , a bowl of rice and a soup. Their Goyza is very tasty, certainly the signature. The fried chicken and prawns are very yummy too. And they have vefetables and eggs in the soup. Use Japnese short grain rice. We were there on a crowded Saturday, and had to queue for a table, but queue was fast. The place is quite cramped with tables very near to each other. Not quite a place for chitchat and hangout, it is somewhere where you have your food and leave immediately after your meal.We had the Eggplant Gyoza Set and Tenshin Gyoza Set, priced at $13.90. Quite a good price for a set of main and gyoza. We wanted to try the gyoza, so we thought the set would be a better and more worth it option. The portion was quite big, especially the Tenshin Set. Fluffy fragrant rice soaked in rich goodness gravy, the Tenshin Han is a real comfort food to me. Warm and comforting to the stomach, it's just awesome! Osaka Ohso was a Chinese-cultured cum Japanese-tradition restaurant. The outlet at Raffles City was quite cramped, yet the design fully utilized the space. After comparing, we concluded value set was more worthwhile. Gyoza was their must try dish, signature recipe prepared just for their supporters. Don’t get cheated by its plainly tasteless cover, well-seasoned tasty chicken hidden under omelette was awesomely fragrant. Rice was drained in squelchy broth, unique apperance and with great aroma. You probably wouldn't believe how I came to notice Osaka Ohsho, I was waiting for my bus after work & saw this double-decker bus carrying its advertisement! Hence, I did my 'homework' on OpenRice to find out what are the recommended dishes. I met up with my buddy at the Raffles City's Osaka Ohsho to check out the food. I remembered that I saw this famous brand in Osaka City but I didn't try it then. As my buddy was not too hungry, we only ordered the Fried Rice + Gyoza Set ($11.90). I tried asking if we could add on a couple more pieces to the 6 pieces in the set but can't. My set arrived pretty fast & the aroma of the fried rice smells good. The gyozas were nice, with sufficient juice of the meat retained & no residual oil were left on our plate. I found the set portion is sufficient as I finished up the fried rice. Met up with a group of my secondary school friends and we had dinner at this Japanese restaurant known for their gyozas! True enough, most of their bento sets included their gyozas. They have a wide range of food on their menu and I finally decided on this Black Vinegar Fried Chicken set. It came together with a bowl of rice, a bowl of miso soup and three pieces of gyoza. The miso soup tasted quite bland but it complements well with the black vinegar fried chicken. The other ingredients included lotus roots, capsicum and eggplant. Their gyozas are handmade and then pan-fried. I like the combination of crispiness on the outside and moist inside. The filling is a combination of pork and finely minced cabbage, garlic and ginger. I am no gyoza expert and therefore can't really judge the standard of these gyozas. One of my friends had the Fuwatoro Tenshin Han set, which is Osaka Ohsho's signature dish. It is essentially like a Jap omelette rice. However, the one here is fluffy and the hot piping rice had a distinctive aroma. The people at Osaka Ohsho are so particular in perfecting their gyozas that these are put on customized grills that maintain a temperature of 95 degrees celcius to ensure consistency and just the right browned crispness. My friend recommended me to this rather new Japanese restaurant at Raffles City. The restaurant is quite small and is located in the midst of cafes/restaurants of such size. I ordered the mixed fry with steam egg set. I don't really like the fried food as I think they were too soggy for my liking. The set also comes with soup and gyoza. The gyoza was well made, flavourful and not too oily, I love it! The soup was average. The whole set costs less than $20 which i think is quite value for money. The Fuwatoro Tenshin Han was basically fluffy omelette rice with a thick layer of gravy poured on it. This tasted great and is a must have as its not commonly found in other Japanese establishments.The Gyokai Ramen tasted not too bad but not outstanding either.The Gyoza 6 pieces comes with the sets. Its understandable how they are famed for these gyozas. These are slightly pan-fried and tasted great with each bite.This place serves Houji Cha, which is roasted green tea, as opposed to most other restaurants serving Ocha. After my last pleasant visit, I am back to try out more of their interesting food from their menu. This time round i tried their Miso Pork Cutlet Set ($15.90). It came with gyoza and soup and rice. The miso pork gravy is so tasty, it goes absolutely well with rice. It is not too salty as well, i felt it brought out the flavour of the pork cutlet. Osaka Ohsho serves the cheapest and tastiest gyoza locally with a dozen of the panfried, ultra thin skinned dumplings costing just $7.80. We spied many diners dropping in after lunch hour just for gyoza and beer. Today we opted for the set meals all of which come with a side dish of gyoza and a small bowl of egg drop soup. The Tenshin ($9.90 ala carte or $12.90 for set meal) is like omu rice except that instead of fried rice, the omelette envelopes plain Japanese rice which is served with a savoury brown gravy. Tasty but a little overrated. This is a big portion but no point ordering the ala carte dish as there is no meat or vegs inside the omu wrap. Here the Gyoza are handmade daily and they have the thinnest pastry skin you'll ever find locally. Th Gyoza are fried till crispy brown on one side while the ample filling inside remains juicy.
