No matter at which hour, this Popiah stall always has a long queue. I think the price also plays a part, nowadays Popiah usually cost $1.50 and above. But this stall still selling at $1.20!I joined in the queue and ordered 2 Popiah. The waiting time in the queue was about 20-30 minutes! The Popiah looked good, portion was average size with generous fillings. The Popiah tasted as good as it looks. The fillings such as bean spourts, lettuce and bangk wang, was moist, juicy and braised sweetness. There was generous chilli and sweet sauce, though the amount of chopped garlic can be more. Overall, I find that this Popiah one of the best in the western area, even better than the Clementi Central one. 繼續閱讀

I simply love the popiah ($1.2). After placing your order, you can watch your popiah get rolled up right before your eyes. The sweet sauce, chilli, mang kuang, tau ge, egg etc were being spreaded and drizzled over the popiah skin and rolled up in a swift and efficient manner. Can you see those crunchy bits in the popiah? It adds a whole lot difference to the texture of popiah! Texture-wise, you get the chewiness from the skin, juiciness from the mang kuang, and crunchiness from the tauge and also crunchy bits; flavor-wise, it is sweet from the sweet sauce, spicy from the chilli, salty from the crunchy bits, and you feel fresh from biting the crunchy tauge. Doesn't it just make you feel hungry again? 繼續閱讀

At dinner hours,i pass by this popiah stall which is located outside the coffee shop. The popiah cost $1.20 per roll which is an reasonable price. There are a few customers in front of me,each of them buying around 2 to 3 rolls of popiah and thus the long waiting time.I told the stall owner not to cut the popiah roll into pieces so that i can walk and eat the popiah at the same time as the ingredients will not fall out easily. The popiah taste sweet from the sweet sauce. What i like is that the skin of the popiah is fresh and not soggy even when it is wrapped with wet ingredients like the stewed turnip. What i like about this stall popiah is the crispy fried flour ingredients which not every popiah stall owner is adding. 繼續閱讀

This is the only stall I know of that is still selling popiah at $1 per roll. Whether or not the fillings are measly or not depends on who is serving you. As this stall is run by a couple, it is either the wife or the husband who will prepare the popiah. So far, the lady boss gives more generous servings than her husband. Her husband stinges too much on the ingredients - you will feel as though you are eating a beansprouts popiah instead of (turnip) mang guang popiah because he puts far too much beansprouts than mang guang. One thing special is that besides the mang guang, they also add strips of thinly sliced cucumber into the popiah. The taste of the popiah is less salty so it will suit people who like less salty food. Overall, thumbs up if it is the lady boss serving you. 繼續閱讀
