This stall has been here for many years, I've had it since I was young. Over the years, it has evolved to include more vegetables, which is a good move. I was happy that the stall owner obliged when I requested for more vegetables and did not charge me extra.The fried kway teow here is cooked with pork lard - which contributes to its fragrance. I made a beeline for my tasty -and- trusty char kway teow stall for an order with extra vegetables. I carried my plate of char kway teow heaven back to the table bursting with pride. "Try this!" This is one of the longest surviving stalls in this food centre. I had eaten their fried kway teow countless times and most of the times it was good but at times it can be quite inconsistent. The kway teow and mee were fried well with ingredients like chinese sausage, fishcake, bean sprouts and cockles. The texture was quite moist but not overly wet. If you like those big juicy cockles in you fried KWAY TEOW, the one sold here will fulfill your requirement. The KWAY TEOW noodles here is very chewy and with lots of the dark sweet sauce fragrant in it. Lots of beansprouts, Chye sim are also added in it which make it really crunchy during your mouthful of it. The portion is quite a lot and good to feed two adults. The standard of food of the AMK Fried Kway Teow at Ang Mo Kio Market Block 724 can be pretty inconsistent. I have tried a couple of times and sometimes it is very nice and other times it sucks. This is my regular stall for fried kway teow but i will order when it is fried by the Uncle as the standard by the Auntie can be quite inconsistent. I wanted to give this stall a 2nd chance as the earlier experience was a disappointing one. I was there at about 6pm on a weekday. There was no other customer so i gotten my order pretty quick. I have decided to skip the $3.50 and ordered the $3.00 instead.First mouthful. It changed my earlier opinion about this plate of fried kway teow. It gotten a distinctive wok hei and itsy-bitsy pieces of fried pork lards added to enhance the flavor. Those slices of lup cheong were nicely fried to release its fragrance. This might be the only stall serving fried kway teow with chopsticks and spoon in Singapore.Today, it did not taste as good as i used to remember. There was a mild burnt taste spotted.
