Nice and affordable tchi char stall located on the top floor of far east plaza.I was recommended to come here by my friend if not I wouldnt know there are so many food stalls here on the topmost floor of far east plaza. There is no gst here and I ordered a hot plate toufu at $10 and another plate of thai chilli chicken also at $10.The items are well cooked and goes really well with rice. The thai chilli chicken was abit too spicy for me as I initially thought it would be those sweet and spicy thai chilli, but nope the chilli used is different here not sweet at all, pure spicy.Hot plate tofu is also yums with prawns, fish slices, chicken strips, mushrooms and egg tofu. 繼續閱讀

Other than serving Zi Char, Susan Chan Food also sells mixed vegetable rice in the afternoon. But beware, the queue is usually super long during lunch time.I order 2 vegetable dish + 1 meat dish for less than $4. The aunty is also very generous with the rice. I especially like their stir fried kailan which are usually fresh and crunchy, and very tasty. Their soft steamed egg is also very unique as it comes with black soya sauce and fried onions on top, bringing extra flavour to this otherwise plain dish.Highly recommended. 繼續閱讀

Susan Chan Food is one of my favourite place to go for Zi Char. Conveniently located at Far East Plaza, I will always come here for dinner after some shopping. The Prawn Paste Chicken is okay, crispy on the outside, soft & tender on the inside. But somehow I just feel that there is something missing. I would think it's average only.. not till fantastic.Enoki mushroom with spinach and beancurd is quite a surprise for me. The highlight for this dish is probably the gravy which is thick and yummy. Goes really well with rice. The vegetables are crunchy and paired with the soft beancurd.. a rather divine combination.Sichuan Soup is probably my favourite out of all dishes at Susan Chan. It's just a little spicy and every mouth is full of ingredients. There's also bamboo shoots in the soup which gives a crunchy bite once in a while. You are warned not to order too many dishes if you are ordering this soup as the starchy soup is quite filling and I often find myself really full after that. 繼續閱讀

You can almost always spot a queue right outside Susan Chan. I love to eat tze-char and rice, so I thought I can't miss trying out this place that is situated right at one of my favourite shopping malls, right? We ordered all the hot favourites of any tze char meal. The table seats six people and in general the portion is either slightly smaller than ideal.Sweet & Sour Chicken ($17): More sweet than sour, this dish is quite well done with comfortable-sized chicken pieces. I love how the sweet & sour sauce is smooth and thick. My favourite dish for every tze char meal. Susan Chan's rendition of this dish is above average. Fried Kai Lan Thai Style ($10): Upon a strong recommendation from my colleague, we decided to order this dish. While vegetables are not something I'll order on my own, this dish is okay, I think. It has a light wokhei aroma but I find that the sauce wasn't thick enough for me. Objectively speaking, the kai lan was crunchy and maintain its freshness but I think vegetables still don't sit well with me. Fu Rong Omelette ($7): Another "standard" dish, but I think their Fu Rong Omelette is a bit too oily and hence slightly below average. Not recommended. Fried Beancurd Hotplate ($17): Deliciously rich in flavour and ingredients, but too little to be shared among six people (perhaps four people's sharing). Recommended but it's a little too expensive. There isn't much service to speak of, but they get things done pretty fast - issuing seats and taking orders, but nothing beyond that. The place has long rectangular tables rather than round tables, so not as conducive for bigger groups that want to engage in conversations. Note that you can't really linger around after your meal because there is a pressurizing queue right outside. A little too expensive for the quality and portion though. 繼續閱讀

Was quite tired of ordering tze cha dishes so I decided to order something to try. wasn't feeling full and craving for something like and soupy, so I.ordered the fish slice bee hoon. it was surprisingly good though it tasted really healthy and light. The fish slices are fresh too and they uses red snapper fish meat (if I'm not wrong). one bad thing about the dish is that the portion is very small and costs $5. The place is crowded during lunch peak hours so be prepare to wait for an empty seat for about 10 minutes or so. 繼續閱讀
