we came here on a Saturday evening for dinner. It began with a dessert, Hokkaido milk pudding. The pudding was very nice with milky taste and it was very tender. I like it very much, must try. We had a Salmon wappa gozen (tonkatsu) and red miso pork shabu nabeyaki udon + tempura. Both the salmon rice and udon taste good. Had dinner at Kazoukutei yesterday. It came with a constant queue during dinner time, so you guys might want to come early. The outlet was busy with us having to ask for a menu even though we were seated by one of their staff. Confusing menu because they had omu rice on display counters and non on the menu. Thinking it was available, we ordered that and were disappointed when they staff told us it has been sold out. Could be much better in service as there was no word of apology but just a blatant it was sold out. The second staff was better and she took our order for one of the dishes which was not indicated in the order form. Given that the outlet was full, we waited for a decent amount of time for our food to arrive.I ordered one Tomyan Seafood Udon (Forgot the exact name). I would say the broth is nice to me. Not too spicy or too sour. A decent amount of ingredients used. If you are looking to be full from that, then it would not be enough. Located at the new wing of the shopping centre, the restaurant specialised in udon dishes. The restaurant is quite crowded, even on a weekday night. It is quite difficult to get the attention of the staff.I have the Clam Chowder Nabe Gozen with Mixed Tempura ($15.90++). The cold udon is quite QQ in texture. There is a lot of clams in the creamy and milky chowder. I feel that the chowder is too watery. The tempura is quite crispy, while the sushi is average.My dining mates are having Tofu Hamburger Set Meal with Miso Soup ($12.90++) andKazokutei Shokado Wazen ($18.90++), which both of them also said not bad.Overall the food is not bad, but service is quite poor. Kazokutei is one of Osaka’s most well known brands for its high quality handmade udon. However, it was a relatively hot day and my buddy and I decided to order the same item. The Tofu Hamburger Combo Omurice ($12.90) looked really appetizing from the menu and we both got the same thing. I really enjoyed the french onion soup it comes with, seasoned to perfection and really opens up all appetite. The tofu hamburger was also tender and moist while the fries were not greasy and really yummy. The star of the dish, the omurice, was amazing as well but I wished that its thicker than it is. The assorted sushi is pretty average. The cold udon basically all taste the same except that it is served in small little bowls with different sides. I went to J8 for dinner and came across this Jap restaurant.It seems like this restaurant is famous for its handmade udon, but really, it doesn't appeal to me.That said, my sukiyaki soup was great - maybe because i like it salty haha. The pork meat was decent too. My set comes with sushi, and 3 fried chicken. If I'm not wrong, this set costs $15.90++ (can't remember though).One minor complaint I had was that the candle's smell lighting the sukiyaki was too pungent. I love my noodles (all kinds) and meat so when i saw this on the menu on a cold rainy day, it was my choice! Instantly! Haha!I simply find it nice and simple.... Nice broth, udon is springy, can't go too wrong with pork belly + a nicely poached egg on top = yummilicious!! Ordered this Udon and Soba that are supposed to eat it coldly but I think they taste really bad to be eaten this way. Especially the Soba, I think it tastes weird as well even after eating together with the brown colour sauce given.As for the Udon set on the most right of the photo, it tastes so much better, perhaps I'm someone who prefers hot and cooked food. Stuck at Bishan Mrt for quite some time before we decided to head up to Junction 8 for dinner. I have craving for Japanese food and saw a new Japanese restaurant and tried it out. The ambience was rather noisy and was packed full of people on a weekend night. Looks like they served good food, espectially udon, what they were famous for. Ordered Pork Sukiyaki Gozen set. The soup base was nice to my liking. Also ordered Zaru Udon and Soba mix with Fried Prawn Tempura set mealZaru Udon was indeed better than Soba. Was rather crowded during dinner hours but the staff still attended to us promptly. They have a wide variety of food such as udon, ramen, omurice, hotpot, sushi, etc. I think they are well known for their udon, so do try if you have a chance. Their food is quite reasonably priced, omurice costs less than $10. I decided to try the tofu hamburger omurice. Nothing special though, but no complaints for the price charged.…查看更多

Dining out at Bishan Junction 8 during lunch time, we chosed Japanese food finally. Kazokutei was another subsidiary under Ajisen Ramen.Worthwhile lunch set, the portion was just nice for one person. One main course, two side dishes came along with Kimchi Soup Pot. Fall in love with the soup, it was light but savory at the same time. Went to Kazokutei for a casual dinner last Sunday and ordered the Sashimi bento set, which consists of Sashimi (salmon, scallop, crab, prawns) on a bed of sushi rice, Mixed tempura, and a small bowl of UdonThe tempura failed to impress as it wasn't that crispy and it obviously isn't their specialty.The Udon was served in a small bowl of tasty soup and the noodle was soft.. Softer than the usual cheap Udon one would usually get which are probably frozen in the fridge for some time. Can taste that this Udon was handmade.Love the Sashimi bowl! The seafood combination were really fresh, something which I didn't quite expect and the sushi rice below had a soft vinegar taste, not overwhelming at all. An advance birthday celebration for my brother @ Kazokutei (Junction 8) with le family. There are quite a varieties of foods to choose from. However, I feel that their arrangement of the food items in the menu is slightly messy which makes me feel slightly perplexed :/ Nevertheless, I would like to comment their service. You may be wondering where is the rice? It is actually hidden inside the egg ; nice, sticky, tomato rice with chicken. Curry u-don with some pieces of beef. It was nice and u-don is chewy.Side dishes can be ordered with every order of u-don. This is the mini chicken katsudon. Kazokutei, located on the second floor of Junction 8, above CBTL. The place was small but could sit about 50 people, a bit cramp though. Simple decor, like that of most Japanese restaurants in Singapore.We ordered 2 sets, I had the Cold Udon and Soba Set, served with a side of Tempura and my wife had the Udon in clear broth with a Salmon Don on the side. The food came fast and was served hot for those that were suppose to be hot. I thoroughly enjoyed the cold Udon to the Soba. The Soba broke apart too easily, as if it was over cooked. The Udon on the other hand, was much better with the bounce texture still present when you dip it into the sauce and into you mouth to enjoy every bit. But I think that without the sauce, the Udon would not be as nice.If you are in need of a quite cheap Udon fix, this is not a bad place to go.…查看更多
