Countless time eating Sarawak style Wanton Noodle, Jia Xiang Kolo Mee is renowned for tantalizing elastic texture of its noodles. One of the reasons I enjoyed to visit here was we always spoilt for choices, Menu was extensive. Comfy environment and special recipe, I came along with a friend.Given a pair of black colour chopstick, nothing special just found it very nice-looking. I opted for thick noodles, chewiness was impressive. With generous amount of well-marinated minced pork on top, the taste was good yet slight salty for me. Soup was okay, decent and light with tender dumplings swam inside. Dried version was definitely a better choice, I like the fragrant of sauce. $6.90 for one set, it was not cheap yet still considered acceptable. 繼續閱讀

Last fri we went to Jia Xiang Kolo Mee at Icon Village, the place was quite spacious, during lunch time it was not so crowded. I quite like this noodle stall because the noodle is thin, unlike the usual mee kia in the hawker center.I ordered Jia Xiang Mee, the taste is quite nice, but my friend told me that it has lots of MSG because he felt thirsty after eating the noodle. For me it's fine The taste is nicer than the usual normal noodles. 繼續閱讀

It was unusually quiet at Icon Village on the Saturday morning. I went with my lunch companion wanting to use a voucher acquired online. We went looking for this shop and found it tucked away right at the corner. It was empty when we gotten there at 11.30 am.The voucher entitled us to have 2 bowls of their Signature Kolo Mee with Abalone and 2 drinks. We were asked to choose between the lime juice and water chestnut drink. I decided to have the water chestnut drink and my lunch companion wanted the lime juice. We collected the drinks and proceeded to find a table. Both drinks were served in a tall plastic cup and not in the usual paper cups like over at their outlet at Vivo City. Our bowls of noodle were served in less than 5 minutes. I attempted to compare the bowls of noodles served here and there. The portion given was definitely more generous than what we usually served over there but the taste was alike. I have always enjoyed the springy texture of their type of noodle served. It has the thickness of the mee kia but more chewy in texture. When tossed it well with their colorless sauce base, it tasted rather good. It was served with a few slices of char siew, braised minced meat and few stalks of vegetables. And, the 2 slices of abalone with 2 pieces of wantons and prawn were served in that small bowl of soup. The sliced abalone tasted rather chewy with no distinctive taste. I enjoyed the wantons though. I could taste a rather slight flavour of dried sole fish added in the seasoned minced meat wrapped in it. That piece of prawn tasted rather fresh. The soup has got a delightful sweetness which i liked. The local Auntie smiled and bid us goodbye when we left.It was a pleasant lunch experience that we enjoyed. 繼續閱讀
