A happy yet disappointed attempt

When I first saw this store, I was full of anticipation to try the food since it was selling Malaysian foods.And so I ordered a cup of black coffee and a set of pig trotter's meal. When first tried, the food was a disappointment as my food was serve warm to cold kind of texture The coffee also taste quite diluted. After a few mouth of meats and rice, I simply left with a happy turned to bad mood. Will not go back as not only it was expensive it is not nice too!

Will not go back as not only it was expensive it is not nice too!

After the delicious meal I had a previous time, we came back to try this again! This time, the service was very bad. We called the waitress to come and clear the tables at least 3 times and they didn't even come. We had to bring it to them before they came as they weren't other empty tables to place the empty bowls. We ordered the Ipoh Homemade Ginger Duck Horfun (Dry) - $7.50 or ($8.30 for set meal)This duck was really hard! It was so difficult to pull the meat apart and the sauce was really re

 This duck was really hard! It was so difficult to pull the meat apart and the sauce was really really salty! I don't know what happened to this place but the standard of the food was atrocious! I read other reviews which said that this dish was not bad.. Maybe it's just this time round that they didn't cook properly or something

We also bought the Ipoh Golden Platter to share ($8 for large and $5 for regular).

 We got the large sized one. There is the fried crispy cracker, fish balls, ipoh fried turnip and tofu. The most abundance one was the crispy cracker. It was quite crispy but it was very salty too! The fish balls were quite bad, it was difficult to bite through. You can dislodge the skin from the fishball itself which shows that it isn't really good. The tofu was hard at the side, not good. Lastly, the fried turnip. It turns out to be really hard to like the tofu, hard at the sides! I didn't enjoy it at all. It also tasted very sweet, taste more like sweet potatoes than fried turnip.

I didn't enjoy my trip this round. Service was bad, and food wasn't good either.

This is the ala carte Authentic Shredded Chicken Horfun (soup). They have a dry version of this noodle too. They also have either the ala-cartle for $5.20 or set meal - $6 (which includes either coffee or tea). And it's the best-seller (it's on the very first page of the menu!)I'm not sure if it's really Authentic Ipoh food but this is really quite good! the soup taste nice and not oily. The chicken skin could be taken off easily and the hor fun is really smooth and soft. The prawn not however n

I'm not sure if it's really Authentic Ipoh food but this is really quite good! the soup taste nice and not oily. The chicken skin could be taken off easily and the hor fun is really smooth and soft. The prawn not however not crunchy but that's only a personal preference.
Also, i think the egg is supposed to add to the taste but I couldn't really taste it! Love to have more vegetables too!

This dish is definitely really good and I would love to try the other dishes which hopefully is from ipoh!

Authentic Ipoh Delicacy??

I was curious how Ipoh delicacies tasted as i have never been to Ipoh so i dropped by this shop as they claimed to serve 'authentic Ipoh food'. I ordered a Huadiao chicken rice set which is basically a chicken dish cooked with a type of chinese wine.I like the chicken as they used chopped chicken thighs which were very smooth and juicy. However, this can be a turnoff for people who do not like bones. The gravy, though a bit oily, was rich in flavour and i poured almost all of it onto my rice bec

 I like the chicken as they used chopped chicken thighs which were very smooth and juicy. However, this can be a turnoff for people who do not like bones. The gravy, though a bit oily, was rich in flavour and i poured almost all of it onto my rice because it taste so good. There was also some mushroom slices in it which were fully soaked with the tasty gravy.

A warm, comforting dish. I will be back to try their Ipoh hor fun soon!

The ipoh hor fun and wanton mee there was great. The price was pretty affordable as well, just slightly above food court price. Something I dislike about this stall is that the tables are pretty close to the neighbouring ones and are rather small. It's more suitable for families, friends or couples who prefer to have a quick lunch or dinner. I would not recommend that you stay in for long hours to chat as the stools and chairs are not very comfortable as well. At times, especially during peak ho

This could be due to the crowded arrangement of the seats which makes it noisy (as I was sitting very close to another family).
