It was one of those days when i do not mind joining a queue. I decided to get the thai chicken cutlet rice. The chicken cutlet tasted over fried. It was a bit dry and hard. It served with achar and cucumber. The rice did not have much fragrant nor flavor. It tasted like plain rice. The thai chilli complemented the chicken cutlet and it tasted better too. It came with a bowl of cabbage soup.

My friend introduce me to cheng mei chicken rice. the chicken rice here is indeed delicious. The rice is so fragrant. it was not too oily. The rice texture is just right, not too soft a little chewy too. The chicken is very tender, it is not too dry. The skin is not too fatty too. The chicken rice actually taste very tasty too. What I like most is their chilli. Love the garlic flavor in it. The chilli was pretty sour and spicy but it was very appetizing, it really opens up your appetite.

I love chicken rice. So much so i can eat chicken rice everyday. This is a popular chicken rice in this hawker centre. I eaten a few times. Their standard is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes, it is quite good and sometimes it is just average. It is same for the chicken, the rice and also the chilli. Today, the chicken tasted normal and the rice has very little chicken soup taste. The chilli is diluted. There was a queue though.

The quality of the chicken rice could not quite justified their long queue during lunch. The chicken meat tasted only average and so is the rice. Their chilli quite diluted with little or no lime taste. I have tried their fried chicken cutlet, equally disappointing. The only outstanding item is their bowl of cabbage soup that usually served hot. That is the only reason that i will go for their chicken rice.

This stall has gotten the usual long queue during lunch when i was there but i still decided to join in. I waited for about 15 minutes to be served. I ordered a roasted chicken rice that came with a bowl of cabbage soup for $3.00.A good portion of roasted chicken together with rice was given. The roasted chicken tasted much better as compared to the fried chicken cutlet that i had the last time. The rice was at a good texture with a slight chicken broth taste but the chilli was quite a let down.

There was no queue so i decided to have their thai chicken rice for lunch. It is a fried chicken fillet with thai chilli and served with achar and slices of cucumber as illustrated by a picture on their signboard but the achar was missing from my plate. i do love achar and that is part of the reason for wanting to order the chicken rice from this stall. The color of fried chicken cutlet was a little too dark and tasted a little over-fried. I wonder are they using the same rice for their chicken

Dine a few time there after recommendation from my friend , love their thai lemon chicken rice , usually I don't drink soup from outside as most of the times the soup are sweet due to the stall owner adding too much MSG , however at Cheng Mei's , I noticed their soup contain vege , thus the sweetness should be from the vege. not forgetting the sauce that makes the chicken taste even better , most of the time will see queue at the stall , however it's also one of the place that is worth queuing
