Reading the Signboard twice to confirm what I had misread during my first glimpse as I had associated the name with Boon Tiong Kee, the famous chicken rice restaurant. There is a few Kway Chap stall but being the typical Singaporean, we joined the stall with the queue as compare to the other which had none.A good wait for about 20 minutes in the queue before we got our set of Kway Chap for 2 pax at $10. Portion of the set looks appetizing with big bowls of Kway in brown soup and ingredients being stacked up nicely with 2 kinds of chilli provided. Portion was worth $10 indeed.Kway Chap Set for 2 - $10No pork belly and no skin in the platter and in fact the interesting find in the platter was pork trotter meat which was so tender and served in smashed form among the savoury sweet braised sauce. Braised eggs, tender duck meat, intestines and Tau Gua was provided. I would say that I'm rather impress by the stack of food which was neatly placed in a sequence besides having a well prepared portion of innards without leaving any trace of smell.I love the Kway for its soup has a slight taste of the herbs and not salty. Portion is definitely not for baby's stomach :).It will be good to drop by again and have a taste of its competing stall right on the left side.…查看更多

value for $usually calls for a long q.. we were there rather early and so no q...This is a set which sets u bk by $4. but very complete... the rice is flavoured - nice, comes with salted vege (v soft), duck, egg, bean curd.. u have the options of adding other ingredients (gizzards, intestines, etc).The bean curd is very well marinated.. all the way to the inner portions..I love their soup .. very strong flavoured herbal soup!!…查看更多

I had this a few years back and remember it to be pretty good, so I had this again when I was in the vicinity.This time I felt like it's not as nice as it used to be. The rice was a little hard and the braised sauce and the duck, pig's intestines etc wasn't as fragrant as I hoped it'll be. There also wasn't any pork or pig's skin included in the set. This stall is the best kway chup that I ever tried. At first hearing their name,i thought it was boon tong kee chicken rice but after that then realize there's no link at all. Their kway chup is cheap and nice, like this only cost $3.50. The soup have a mild herbal taste, then their 3 layer meat was very soft and tender, I like it with their thick sauce. This stall always has long queues. Question is whether it is worth queuing and my opinion is that it's a resounding yes! Obviously, one must try the kway chap. The tau kwa is soft and the pig innards are fresh. The sauce is somewhat sweet and very fragrant. The meats are all well executed and there are always celebrities visiting the stall. The duck kway teow from this stall has always been at the top of my list whenever i am craving for it. The duck was nicely braised and de-boned to serve it with the smooth and soft kway teow. The portion of duck meat given was quite generous. The thick braised sauce tasted fragrant and goes well with the kway teow. A bowl of herbal-ish soup was served with the duck kway teow. I actually didn't think I will have the pork knuckle but when I saw the person's order before me looked so delicious, I changed my mind and settled for it. The meat was certainly tender and well stewed with spices and the sauce were aromatic enough. The knuckle was big for me and it was worth the money which was at $4.50. This stall is quite famous, having been featured in numerous television shows in the past and with many photographs of local celebrities together with the stall owner. I was expecting quite a lot from my kway chap given its fame and it did not disappoint. The braised products that I ordered are all very well flavoured. The braised duck especially is very good, it is very tender and each piece sort of just melts in your mouth. The kway chap here is very interesting as lots of generous side dishes are placed on a plate to go along with the thick broad rice noodles soup. The rice noodles are very smooth and easy the chew. The soup base is is filled with very fragrant dark soya sauce flavour and also different types of chinese spices and pork meat sweetness in it. Especially like to eat their small pig intestines and sliced pork belly which are both equallly tender and chewy. Another good stall to try when you are at River Valley Zion Riverside Food Centre is the Boon Tong Kee Kway Chap Braised Duck stall. You can either order the kway chap or the braised duck hor fun. This is still one of the better kway chap that i have eaten. My partner suggested to have lunch at Zion Riverside Food Centre this afternoon. The first thought that came to my mind was to have kway chap from this particular stall again.A set for 1 pax is still at $3.00. For $3.00, you will get a mixture of braised egg, tau kwa, tau pok, big intestine and braised meat together with a bowl of kway. This stall has couple of pictures taken with celebrities that visited the stall, mainly local artistes. Even with all these 'advertising' hanging at the stall, the lady owner has never been proud and in fact she's always friendly and humble. They have a wide selections from braised duck, braised pork to stewed egg and stewed pork legs too.This is my second time eating at this stall and so far do find overall nice with those I had eaten. My family and I were out on a weekend for lunch and we decided to have kway chap. Their kway chap here is really tasty and affordable. The kway is smooth and the soup was delicious. This has been a stall that i patronize regularly recently. I have tried their duck kway teow and duck rice so far and i came back to try their kway chap this time.A kway chap set for 1 person is only $3.50. I came at an off peak period but there was still a queue right in front of this stall, the customer in front of me and the after, happened to order kway chap too.The Kway was really smooth in the slight herbal tasting stewing sauce. And, the ingredients like braised meat, tau kwa, tau pok, intestines and braised egg that served along were in a pretty good amount. This is definitely one of the nicest that i ever tried so far.
