I am in the area for lunch when I pass by this shop. It sells a variety of paus. There is black sesame pau, chicken / pork big pau ($1.80), braised pork pau, Amy Yi's Jumbo Pau($3.50) and Sured-Win Jumbo Pau, as well as, other dim sum items.Amy Yi's Jumbo Pau ($3.50)The pau is huge in size, much bigger than my fist. It is filled with egg, pork, chicken, mushroom, and chinese sausage. The skin of the pau is quite thick, but also quite soft too. The pau tastes quite salty and I could not finish it.If one feel that this pau is not filling, then you should try the Sured-Win Jumbo Pau which is filled with egg, pork, chicken, mushroom, chinese sausage and a rice dumpling. Yes there is a full sized rice dumpling inside the pau.Overall the pau is interesting but it is way too big for one to have it. 繼續閱讀

Its been a while since i last had a amy yip big bao. Dad packet it home at $3.20 per bao. Was immediately amazed by its sheer size, putting it beside an average orange for comparison. The bao comes with lots of filling from lup cheong to meat to eggs to mushroom. Only part which i did not like is the skin is a little too thick but i guess it needed to whole the fillings in tact. Recommend that you heat it up before consuming. Anyway one of such bao can easily fill you up like a standard meal. 繼續閱讀

Took a bus to Changi Village today, walked past this shop and saw the gigantic pao in the glass steamer. According to the salesperson, this pao is called the “ye zi mei" pao. Just in case some of you do not understand how the name comes by, it is named after an actress. This actress has big......, erm ok......let your imagination run wild. I bought one (cost S$3.20) for my son's lunch . My son did not like it and commented that it was too sweet, so he only ate half of it. I had a bite and found the filling too sweet too, there are also bits of fats in it which I didn't like, disappointing! 繼續閱讀

The FoodThis was my first time ordering this jumbo big pau. What caught my eye was none other than its SIZE. It was soooooooo huge. Bigger than my palm size or even face!! After opening the pau, the jumbo pau was filled with a lot of ingredients, as you can see from the picture. There were egg, meat and I love the juice of the meat in the jumbo pau. So nice!! A tad too huge for one to savour though. So it is good for sharing! The PricePretty pricey for a pau. 繼續閱讀

There is a pau store at Blk 4 Changi Village Road #01-2082 and named as Johore Bahru Handmade Pau. Think this pau store has been around for a many years and has a few outlets in Singapore. Mrupupup tried out their paus (Chinese made steamed buns). These paus, steamed came with many types of fillings like chicken, pork, red bean or coffee paste. Guessed the unique nature of the Johore Bahru paus were their funny names given to the paus, like 'kung fu' kick pau (filled with chicken filling) and the Hong Kong TV Star 'Amy Yip' Giant paus (very huge steamed paus with pork and egg). Mrupupup liked their char siew pau for their nice taste and packed with lots of char siew pork meat. The coffee paste steamed pau was not bad too. Pretty good snack time from Johore Bahru Pau store, do remember to steam the buns before eating. The steamed buns (paus) range from $1- $3 in price depending on what buns you order. Think Johore Bahru Handmade Pau is 'generous' with their fillings in the paus. Yummyss!http://mrupupup.blogspot.sg/2013/01/johore-bahru-handmade-pau.html 繼續閱讀
