The thought of bringing our Guest who is a Vegetarian to Fortune Centre was a perfect eyeopener to him. He was amazed by the varieties of Vegetarian food available in Singapore and was somehow had his feet sweep off by the interesting looking food and he kept asking repeatingly to confirm that what he was consuming was actually vegan.Based on my recommendations and since my last visit in 2013 with New Green Pasture had left a good impression, we brought him to the exact same place instead of other - afterall Fortune Centre is a place full of eateries for the vegans.Interior of New Green Pasture stays the same, nothing much changes since my last visit with pictures of their dishes pasted all over the walls for illustration. When further asked if they do offered Cze Char Style Vegetarian Food, the lady boss brought out her concern on organic food. She explained that Organic Food should be served in simple cooking method to refrain themselves from losing its nutritional values.Beverages are in packed form, 100% with no added preservatives and can be taken from the chiller near the entrance. Those who are ordering meals get to enjoy a bowl of soup at a dollar. The soup was tasty filled with nutritious herbs, dates and pumpkins. Soup is required to be of self service by the patrons and can be obtained from the pot near the utensils counter. All was good except that this additional 1 buck does not entitled us for refilling the soup. I'm kind of missing the taste of their Hainanese Noodle, being so and here it is! Though gravy was not as much as before, they still tasted as good, full of texture! This Signature Dish is still maintaining its reputation yah.Everyone should have heard of Thunder Rice and its nutritional value. How could an organic stall be one without having such dish on its menu. Well, this is also one of their recommended dishes. Patrons are given the choice of brown or white rice. Apparently my guest had chosen the brown rice. After a few sips of the tea gravy, he began to pour the whole bowl of it into the rice. Luckily, it suits him and everything on the bowl was cleared. If you are going for something soup based, it won't go wrong with their herbal infused mee sua in soup loaded with items like sweetcorn, jews ear, vegetables and tau gua.Sri Lanka Roll was the dish that left me a strong impression for New Green Pasture. I vaguely recalled and warned my guest that it was a tad spicy before we all agreed to have this. Simply love its toasted to crisp wrap/roll and the soften diced potato. The luscious curry and vegan mayo gave a perfect marriage to the dish!New Green Pasture do even have the Japanese Cuisine in Vegetarian form. My view coming from a non-vegetarian: stunned. Now it sound that nothing is impossible - anything that can be found in non-vegetarian restaurant can be in vegan's menu too.Boy! I'm still impressed by New Green Pasture's innovation! This dish is a replica of our traditional "Kang Kong Cuttlefish" in sweet sauce! However ingredients were replaced to suit the vegan's diet. There were riots of texture on the plate. Coral Jelly gave a slimy and QQ texture, while the toasted tau pok, kang kong, cucmber and crackers gave the crunch while tomato and pineapple giving the juiciness in the dish. All of us left a thumb up for this appetizer! It was really enjoyable to experience vegan's diet throughout my guest's visit. Though the Taupok salad may sounds boring, the dish itself did the contrast! Toasted Taupok were crispy and overly filled with shredded vegetables like purple cabbages, carrots and green cabbles drizzled with mayonnaise sauce. With such interesting dishes available in New Green Pasture, there is no reason not to visit them again!Taken from http://www.umakemehungry.com/2015/01/new-green-pasture.html 繼續閱讀

I’ve had their Thunder Tea Rice before and liked it, hence when I was in the vicinity and was looking for a snack, I decided to drop by to try their Sri Lankan Roll as I’ve heard people rave about it before. The Sri Lankan Roll $7 was essentially a tortilla wrap with vegetables, diced potato, tofu, mock meat and curry sauce inside. There were also some cucumber slices in between each portion, topped with some mayonnaise sauce. This was really substantial and tasted really good, though a little spicy for me. I believe even meat-lovers will take to this dish. 繼續閱讀

Looking for vegetarian meal? Fortune Centre in Bugis is definitely a place to go. There are at least 5 to 6 vegetarian café or restaurant in this building. For today's lunch, my daughter and I went to New Green Pasture Cafe. This café cum organic food shop is located on the 4th floor in the Fortune Centre. Part of the shop is a café where they serve food that are organically grown with low fat, low salt and msg free. The other part of the shop is selling organic food product such as organic vegetables, organic fruits, brown rice and etc. It is a small café and there was only one lady that helps to serve food, take orders and do cashiering duties. With just a handful of customers, she was already extremely busy walking around the café serving customers. Although she was extremely busy, she never forgets to put on her smile to greet the customers. Sometimes she even slow down her pace and ask the customers for feedback on the food. This little small act leaves a deep impression in me. We ordered an organic honey lemon to share. This drink was served with a warning from the lady server. As the lemon that they use is grown organically, it is actually more sour than the normal lemon. Just one sip of the drink, sent both our faces twitching away >.< It is too sour for our taste and the lady is kind enough to add in more honey for us to dilute the sourness. Here comes our lunch. Japanese Soba Set is the set meal of the day. The noodle with seaweed had a delicious fragrance smell of sesame oil and my daughter love it! Unlike the miso soup from other place, the miso soup that they served came with a lot of ingredients inside it. Tasty slurrp. The salad (bottom right) has a refreshing prune like taste. As for the other 2 dishes, the chef just wrapped some ingredients together in a seaweed to make it look like sushi. Our last dish was sushi rolls. The Chef definitely takes the time to decorate the sushi nicely on the plate with all the green vegetables and carrots. When this dish was served, a strong vegetable kind of smell hit our nose. Taking the first bite, a sour prune kind of taste burst out from the sushi into the mouth. Nice, not your ordinary kind of sushi. However my daughter being a meat lover finds this dish too ''grassy'' for her taste. The whole meal cost less than $40. At the same time, you can enjoy a healthy delicious meal. Definitely will go back again to try out other dishes. 繼續閱讀

We will keep coming back for their cold soba because they mix their own secret soba sauce which makes the soba so palatable. Moreover, we like the way they cook the vegetarian dishes, they would use mostly vegetables for ingredients. Unlike some stalls use mock meat to create meat dishes without the real meat, hence it is vegetarian meatless dish!Their fresh ingredients will never fail us, they are really fresh, crunchiness vegetables burst in your mouth. On top of that they add some crumble crispy rice, every mouthful will keep you busy on munching them, eating and exercising of your face at the same time, isn’t it good! Eating such a meal will definitely provide you more nutrients and subsequently good to health. We have ordered a veggie sushi roll too, taste is sweet and sour, it is such a light food, you won’t feel guilty by eating more. Don’t forget their dessert, made by sea coral, it says it is sea bird nest, rich in vegetable collagen. The smooth texture of jelly like desert, eat it with good reason, you won’t feel load up your calories! They carry some dry vegetarian food stuff on sale. Some of their ingredients are available if someone wants to cook it at home. We noted that they have increased their prices for cooked food. Nevertheless, we will still come back. 繼續閱讀
