Thankfully, the soup can be refilled regularly. The staff are efficient and helpful, but it may be difficult to get their attention as they are so busy. I would also order a plate of local vegetable, Chye sim ($3.50). The portion is surprisingly generous and would definitely help make my meal a more healthy one

Located at a prominent area just directly opposite Clarke quay mrt station, it was easy to find locate this bak kut the shop. Although, it was very packed during lunch hours but the staff was able to get us seated in after 10mins. I find that the soup was more a peppery kind rather than the herbal, however the meat was soft and tender to my liking. Another good point is that the soup is refillable. The pig trotter was nice but it has a lot of fats. Overall, it’s still worth a try.

The Bak Kut Teh is pepper-based (not herbal). We ordered the Premium Loin Ribs which were tender, good chewy texture and not too fatty. Enjoyed the soup as it was spicy but not till your tongue goes numb. W

I hope the prices don't go up, and also you can say that you don't want the wet tissue (you have to pay for it) at the start. Payment is made right when the food is served.

I ordered the $6.50 bowl, a lot of meat and it is very delicious! You can also order up to $1, $2 or $3 for You Tiao. The rice costs $0.50.

Avoid peak hours if you can, but the turnover is rather quickly and they serve the food quite quickly. You can get free rounds of bak kut teh refill too.

I wouldn't say i'm entirely satisfied with this meal, maybe i had too much expectation, most of the dishes taste normal to me and i could not understand the reason behind the crowd. The soup is darker than most pepper version but it did not impress me enough.

But it does still hv the buzz of a old coffee house with option of drinking kungfu tea though i hardly see people doing it as most are younger working crowds diners.

They serve the usual soup with generous helpings of succulent meat with the delicious 'boiled-all-day' taste that our grannies used to make for us, and soups are refillable! It's a nice homey touch to a modern day looking restaurant that adds a dash of nostalgia of the olden days. The soup is not too peppery and still thick enough with both spices and meat, although i prefer my soup more spicier.

Their side dishes are also yummy and the pork innards are a must try.

Song Fa is a Teochew styled bak kut teh, but it looks the same as other normal bak kut teh. The serving time was very fast, the bak kut teh soup was very nice, light yet have a strong bak kut teh taste, unlike others, this is just mild spicy.I have tried a few such that they put in a lot pepper so very spicy. The meat was so soft & tender, very juicy & not fattening. I like the Environment here, very nostalgic, the service was good too & they keep refilling our soup.

The bak kut teh has a nice peppery and garlic taste, different from the traditional black one. The soup is refillable and unlimited and the person will come around refilling quite often, so don't worry about finishing the soup! One bowl of bak kut teh with 3 pork ribs is quite alot, so good to share with friends.

The braised pig trotters is quite nice, but half the dish is full of fats, so if you don't like to eat fats, I would advise you not to order this.

Overall, it's worth it, reasonable price, efficient service and good food!

Service was prompt. Food was served within a minute or two after order.

Payment is expected once all the dishes have been served. That said, wet tissues that are not required should be returned to them immediately or they will be billed to you. An unnecessary charge, in my opinion.

A bowl of standard Pork Ribs soup came with 3 tender ribs in a heavily peppered soup (S$6.50). There is a "premium" version of this for an additional charge of S$2.
Whilst eating, staff walking around will take the initiative to top-up your soup for you. Of course unless you stop them from doing so. The soup is best drunk while hot. It becomes a little salty when it gets cold.

An order of soup does not come with a serving of rice. A bowl of rice can be ordered at an additional charge of S$0.60 each. If you ask for less rice, it costs S$0.40 instead.

Yes, now I know why the place is always crowded. The Bak Kut Teh is certainly worth trying.
Whether it is worth the price paid, that is subjective.

Upon stepping into Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, I could feel a sense of nostalgic with its wooden ceiling, stools and tables that were used in the past and also the decoration with black and white photos of the olden days. What was most pleasant was that it was neat, clean and air-conditioned.

Bak Kut Teh was invented by Chinese immigrants in Malaya in the 19th century. In those days, the immigrants were manual workers who were poor. As their job require lots of energy, they had to find ways to boost their energy. As such, they used cheap pork ribs and herbs like coriander, cloves, star anise and pepper to cook soup. Besides being able to drink the nutritious soup, they were also able to enjoy the meat on ribs. Satisfying their hunger pangs and the need to replenish their energy. As a result, the Teochew style Bak Kut Teh (as what we know today) unlike the Klang version is peppery and clear. Personally, I prefer the Teochew Style Bak Kut Teh (I am a Teochew).

They offer several many other dishes such as Pork Liver Soup, Pork Stomach Soup as well as Braised Pig Trotter to complement the peppery Bak Kut Teh.

Three pieces of pork ribs was served in the Pork Ribs Soup (Bak Kut Teh). The meat on the pork rib was quite tough; not as tender as I hope it would be. Fortunately, the soup saved the day. Clear, tasty and peppery. Full garlic and star anise flavour, so aromatic. The soup was refillable and I refilled it three times in total!

I could not resist ordering the You Tiao (油条) aka Dough Fritters to go along with the Bak Kut Teh. The best way to savour this is to dip it into the soup to allow it to soak up all the soup. Shiok!

Overall, a decent bowl of Bak Kut Teh. Certainly not the best. In terms of price, it was affordable considering that the place was air conditioned and there was no service charge (the service in terms of ordering, serving, refilling of soup was prompt and efficient).

It was my first time to go to eat bak kut teh in this restaurant on 21 Oct 2012. Amazingly that it was recommended by my friend who was traveling here from Shanghai, while I stayed in Singapore for over half a year and never came here. We ordered only two dishes bak kut teh and trotters as we arrived late after 9pm. The food were nice and more delicious than other restaurant. And I introduce to another friend of mine and came to eat bak kut teh on 13 Dec 2012 again.

As i am in the town area, so we decided to go to there. Today, the soup is a little too spicy compared to the Changi Business Park branch. However, the veg with oyster sauce here taste better. As for the Bak Kut, meat is a little tough compared to the Changi Business Park. Overall, still enjoy my dinner there. Service is good here, without asking, they will automatically refill your soup.
