For only $1, you get 4 chwee kueh sprinkled with generous servings of chye poh. I have to admit that I am not a fan of chwee kueh but after trying Jian Bo's, I was truly impressed. Come down to Tiong Bahru and try it for yourself.

Jian Bo Shui Kueh at Tiong Bahru Food Centre is an old signboard. It used to be my top choice whenever i want to eat shui kueh. I think it is not as nice as before. It seemed to be a standard drop. The chye po is not as nice too but the shui kueh is still quite nice. I still think their chilli is still quite nice. This stall is not as popular as before. Maybe there are other choices when come to shui kueh.

Chew kuey is my all time favourite snack. This stall used to be one big name in chwee kuey but no more these days. I was happy to see no queue in front of this stall when i was there. I ordered only 4 for $1.20. The chye po is lacking of nice fragrant and not very salty but the kueh was steamed nicely. I have eaten nicer one so i do not find theirs very nice now.

I have fond memories of eating shui kueh from this particular stall in those good old days when they were at the already demolished old Tiong Bahru Food Centre. The shui kueh still tasted very much the same but long gone is the forever queue. It gotten me to wonder where did the queue go to. The kuehs were nicely steamed to give it the soft texture. The preserved radish (chai po) were not as fragrant as the other famous name in shui kuey that has chain of outlets island wide. Apparently, their chilli was not as nice, too. It gotten me to wonder a little perhaps there is where the queue has gone to.

All in all, it was still an enjoyment to eat here once more. The familiar taste is still so comforting.

Yes, my cravings for our local food didn't stop at one stall and chwee kueh has been my favourite food and can't resist it whenever I see a stall but of cos it has to appeal good to me then will I order. Usually the chye poh and the chilli are the ones that play a important role in this dish and this stall with the above mentioned ingredients are not too bad and at least their chye poh is not those of the sweeter version.

The Chwee Kueh is famous and delicious here and it always draws a crowd. It is soft and gives a good bite and it is not sticky which is good. The “chai po” is very well-fried and fragrant. The chwee kueh itself is tasteless so this chai po compliments it very well together with the chili. The stall is very generous with the “chai po” too. Though this is a delicious breakfast or snack to have, it is pretty oily so not advisable to take it often.

Shui kueh is a common dish in singapore. You may find it in almost all the food center but Jian Bo Shui kueh is very unique. What makes it so unique? It's their special "cai-bo". The lady boss is never stingy in giving lots of cai-bo if you requested for it. The kueh is so smooth and just like silky tofu. Selling at reasonable price at $1 for 4 pcs. Highly recommended for all the shui kueh lover. You will definitely like it.

This has to be one of my favorite chwee kuay stall.Piping hot chwee kueh with generous of 'cai-po' topping!Their 'cai-po' are a little different from the normal chweekueh stall. It seem rather addictive and the chewy yet crunchy texture compliment well with the warm and moist chwee kueh. The saltiness are also pretty consistent and for health conscious people, it isnt exactly that oily.Must try in Tiong Bahru Market.
